About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jeni and I'm an Integrative Psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience.
As a therapist I offer a warm, grounded and curious space where you can begin to understand yourself and your relationships in a different way. I’m particularly interested in how our upbringing and past experiences shape the way we respond, relate and make sense of the world around us.
The way I work is collaborative, giving you space to explore what matters to you while offering thoughtful reflections, gentle challenge and a different perspective when it feels helpful. We might explore patterns in your relationships, attachment, anxiety, avoidance, isolation, or difficulties asking for and receiving support.
I believe therapy is about more than understanding why we do what we do. It’s about discovering that, even when our responses feel automatic, we may have choices. Together, we can explore new ways of being and relating, with compassion for all the different parts of you.
My aim is for you to leave therapy with greater confidence in yourself, more contentment in your life, and a sense that whatever challenges come next, you can find a way through them.
I am a member of the BACP and adhere to it's ethical code. I have a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy.
Practice description
I offer weekly 50 minute counselling sessions either online or in person.
In sessions I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space where we can make sense of what is happening for you, together.
I’m interested in the patterns we develop in relationships and the ways our earlier experiences can shape how we understand ourselves, respond to others and move through the world. We might explore what happens for you in your relationships, how you respond when things feel difficult, and the parts of yourself that may be harder to understand or accept.
I will listen carefully, reflect back what I notice and, when it feels right, gently challenge you to look at things from a different perspective. I won’t simply sit back and listen – I’ll be alongside you, curious about what we are discovering together.
Over time, I hope therapy helps you understand yourself with greater compassion and gives you more choice in how you respond, relate and move forward.
My first session
Once you’ve completed my referral form, I’ll offer you a free 20-minute phone call. This is an opportunity for us to briefly talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether we feel we could work well together.
If we both decide to go ahead, we’ll arrange your first session. We’ll talk through and agree our therapy contract, including practicalities such as confidentiality, boundaries and how we’ll work together. I’ll also ask you some questions about your life, relationships and what has brought you to therapy. This is sometimes called a clinical assessment, and it helps me get to know you and begin to understand what you might need from therapy.
There will also be plenty of space for you to ask questions and begin to get a sense of what it might be like to work together.
