About me and my therapy practice

I work with clients of all ages, with a particular focus on children, teenagers and young adults. Much of my training and practice has been dedicated to understanding and supporting these crucial stages of development.

My goal is to offer a safe, warm, and non judgemental space where you, or your child, can explore what’s difficult, find relief from distress, and begin to reconnect with a sense of calm and joy.

Today’s young people face rising levels of anxiety, sadness, and loneliness. Academic pressures, social media, climate concerns, and the complexities of relationships, gender and identity can all feel overwhelming. Reaching out for help takes real courage, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I work in a collaborative, empowering way, helping you, or your child, build self acceptance and the confidence to make positive changes. I aim to create a trusting, compassionate relationship where you can speak freely and feel truly heard.

Choosing the right therapist can feel daunting. To help you feel more at ease, I offer a free initial consultation by phone or Zoom before your first session. To book, simply email me. I see clients both in person and online.

Health Insurance: AXA, AVIVA, VITALITY, BUPA.

Practice description

My background includes working as both a university and school counsellor. I have also supported children and adolescents within an inpatient mental health unit (CAMHS). This experience equips me to work with a wide range of difficulties; from anxiety and depression to neurodiversity and complex trauma.

I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent young people and those affected by trauma. This includes offering a safe, understanding space for clients who feel worried or distressed about climate change. As a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance, I take these concerns seriously and recognise how deeply they can affect emotional wellbeing. I support young people to explore feelings such as fear, anger, or sadness, helping them make sense of their experiences and find ways to feel more grounded, hopeful, and empowered.

While my core approach is person centred, I am also trained in evidence based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), both recommended by NICE and widely used in NHS services for children, adolescents, and adults. DBT offers practical skills in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and mindfulness, helping you or your child build resilience and find greater balance in day to day life.

My first session

Whatever your age or background, I am committed to providing a safe, supportive space where you can explore your concerns, heal from past experiences, and develop healthier boundaries, so that close, accepting relationships can bring more love and joy into your life.

I offer an initial exploratory session at a reduced fee, in which we can discuss what has brought you, or your child, to therapy.

This is also a chance to talk through whether I can offer the right kind of support, so you feel confident and informed when deciding if my work is a good fit. We’ll go through fees, session times, and my cancellation policy. I’ll also share some information about my service and my privacy policy.

If you are a parent or carer looking for a therapist for your child, I invite you to join the first part of the initial session, if your child is comfortable with this. As a mother of six children (including two stepchildren), I understand how important it is to find a warm, safe, and competent therapist for you and your child to talk to. I will take time to explain how I work and how therapy could be helpful.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are held via zoom or in person. Times can be reduced for younger children.
