About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced Person-Centered counsellor who enjoys learning about other modalities and has delivered over 1500 counselling sessions. I work with 16yrs+ and with people from all walks of life, culture, faith or non. I believe that the most important element for successful counselling is the therapeutic relationship. My hope is to work with you, talking through whatever may be troubling you and together finding a way for you to move forward.
Practice description
My aim is to create a safe and non-judgemental space where you can bring whatever you want to bring and we can think about it, explore how you feel about it, whether it connects with other experiences, with the hope of finding a way forward.
I work from a room in the centre of Reading 10 minutes walk from the train station. Currently I work face-to-face although I do have experience of working online.
The number of sessions you may need will vary and we will have regular reviews to reflect on how we feel the work is going. It may be that you only want a few sessions or it may be that you want longer term therapy. My aim is to work at your pace.
My first session
When you initially contact me we will book a time for a short phone call. This call will be a chance for you to talk about what your hopes for counselling are. Together we will decide whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
Your first face to face session is a chance for you to tell me a bit more about yourself and what you wish to talk about. I will let you know what you can expect from me and you can ask any questions, and talk about any concerns you may have about the counselling.
Often this first session can feel quite daunting, especially if it is your first experience of counselling. We will take it at your pace and you will not have to disclose everything about yourself at this stage. I recognise it might take a while for you to feel you can trust me.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified supervisor with experience of working with groups and individuals, counsellors and people working in other caring professions.
I prefer working face to face but am happy to consider a hybrid model. I am an accredited counsellor and have current experience of working with young people and adults.
My training was integrative, predominantly Person-Centered, with Existentialism, Psychodynamic and Attachment
Practice description
My interest with supervision is the relationship formed between therapist and client, what might be going on unconsciously and consciously and what it might indicate for the client. My aim is to create a nurturing and challenging space where we can reflect on your client work and yourself as a therapist.
I have relevant training and experience of working with young people both as counsellor and supervisor for the No 5 Charity (based in Reading) and previously as a school counsellor. I have been an accredited counsellor since 2022.
My first session
The first session will be about discussing whether we feel we can work together. I will be interested in what modalities you work with and what your expectations might be for supervision.
This is basically a chance for us to think about what our working agreement might look like, aside from my contract. It should also give us a feel as to whether we might be able to work effectively together.
