About me and my therapy practice
I totally understand the courage it takes to talk about personal issues, and I appreciate that taking the first step towards counselling can be challenging and scary. I offer a free initial phone call to discuss what may work for you.
I have over 30 years experience of working with individuals and couples, I offer a non-judgemental safe space that will enable you to explore the issues you are struggling with. Throughout this time I will support you on your journey to overcome these. I believe you are the expert, I see my role as supporting you in finding what you need to move forward in your life.
Since qualifying as a counsellor many years ago, I have worked with thousands of clients with a variety of problems including: anxiety, stress, work related stress, living in domestic violence, relationship issues, infidelity, bereavement, childhood sexual abuse, self harm etc. I am able to work in a time limited way offering focus to any work we do together, I also offer long term therapy, I believe everyone's journey is unique to them so therapy should be flexible to suit each individual person's needs .
My working life from 1995 until 2019 was based in Bradford West Yorkshire I was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mosaic a registered charity which offered support to families whose lives had been affected by sexual abuse. I was humbled and honoured to receive an MBE in the Queen's 2018 New Years Honours List for this work.
The charity sadly closed in 2019 due to lack of funding, I moved to Northumberland where I worked in my private practice with individuals and couples for 7 years.
I have moved back to Bradford . I want to continue to work offering therapy to couples and individuals. I have worked with survivors of sexual abuse for over 30 years I fully appreciate how difficult it can be to talk about feelings hence I like to work at the clients' pace.
I also offer clinical supervision for counsellors and external supervision for team mangers.
