About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP registered counsellor and a qualified social worker, bringing a broad and grounded understanding of people, relationships and life challenges into my counselling work. My professional background supports a thoughtful, ethical and compassionate approach, with a strong commitment to safe practice.

My work is person-centred, meaning I offer a safe non-judgemental and confidential space, where you can talk openly and without fear of restriction or pressure . I believe each person is the expert in their own life. I work at your pace, focusing on what feels most important to you.

I am an empathetic, approachable and collaborative therapist, committed to building a genuine therapeutic relationship, based on trust and respect. I value effective listening and seek to understand your experiences from your perspective, helping you feel heard, supported and accepted.

I work in a way that is supportive and effective, encouraging reflection, self awareness and positive change. My aim is to work alongside you, helping you explore difficulties, recognise strengths and move towards greater clarity and wellbeing.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm , thoughtful space where clients can pause , reflect and gain insight into their lived experience. I work with the whole person recognising emotional , psychological ,  relational and cultural dimensions, and I value each individual as they are.

I am committed to inclusion and welcome clients of all ages, races, identities and backgrounds , holding awareness of how social context, difference and lived experience shape wellbeing.

My approach is based in understanding, authenticity and respect. I aim to be real and present in the therapeutic relationship, believing that meaningful change grows from genuine connection.

Together , we work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, developing insight while remaining realistic about what can be achieved in therapy.

My first session

Initial Free Telephone Call (approximately 20-30 minutes) Before beginning counselling, I offer a telephone call, this gives you an opportunity to outline your reasons for seeking counselling. We may briefly explore current difficulties and what you are hoping to gain from therapy.

I will explain how I work, what I offer and answer any questions you may have. If we feel that counselling together would be appropriate, we can then arrange a first face-to-face session.

First Face-to-Face , the first session  provides a calm and supportive space to begin exploring your concerns in more depth. What you would like to work towards and whether ongoing counselling feels right for you.

Practical Arrangements, payment details will be explained clearly in advance, at or before, the first session. You will be asked to complete the necessary paperwork, including contact details and a counselling contract. The contract outlines practical matters, such as session length, fees, cancellations and boundaries, helping to create a clear and safe framework for our work together.
