About me and my therapy practice

Going to therapy can be daunting and especially challenging, however what can be even more challenging than going to therapy is to live with fear, anxiety, and sadness. And although most people can find ways to manage the loneliness and anxiety of everyday life, it tends to keep finding ways to seep through once again.

I'm a Psychodynamic Therapist and through my work in charities and in the NHS, I have experience with a range of issues which include abuse, addictive behaviours (alcohol and drug issues), anger management, anxiety, bereavement and loss, body dysmorphia, bonding and attachment issues, depression, issues surrounding food, building healthy boundaries, issues with intimacy and sex, relationship problems, self-worth and self-esteem issues, trauma and feelings of shame and guilt.

It can feel frightening to explore old wounds and perhaps, in the process, even discover new ones that maybe you didn’t even know were there.

Therapy cannot promise that you will never feel depressed or anxious again. Therapy can give you the tools and the environment that you might need to flourish and learn more about yourself and the way you relate to others around you. It can be a safe place where you can feel that another person has you in mind, and wants to empathetically listen to you, and challenge you, with your best intentions in mind.

You may be struggling with emotions and thoughts around a person that left you, a parent that hurt you, someone that loved you too much or too little, an accident, a bad sexual experience, a fight, a bad diagnosis. There are so many things, that can go through your mind and still hurt you every day. What I am hoping to help you with is to allow yourself to understand the past, and how it has affected you and perhaps get to a point that, although it would be better if these bad things didn’t happen, you can still feel secure and whole despite the fact that they did.

Practice description

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy involves working with the unconscious. Through dream analysis and conversation, we would try understand what might be happening unconsciously that leads to the issues or feelings one might be facing.

In order to start working together, we would first arrange a brief call. During this call I would ask you a little bit about what has been going on and take a brief history. Then, we would arrange an initial consultation.

My first session

During the initial consultation, we would talk about your history and about what brought you to therapy at length. I would talk you through the therapy contract. We would then decide how to move forward together.

I usually suggest to work together for 1 month and then reassess.

The fee for the initial consultation is 80£.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and supervisor, offering clinical supervision to therapists seeking professional growth and deeper insight into their practice. With a BSc in Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London, and an MA in Counselling from Goldsmiths, I bring a strong academic foundation to my work. My foundation and post-foundation years at the Institute of Psychoanalysis provided a wealth of resources in terms of theory and technique.

As a registered member of BACP and BPS, I provide a reflective and supportive supervisory space, helping therapists explore clinical challenges, countertransference, and theoretical frameworks. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic principles, emphasizing self-awareness, ethical practice, and the therapeutic relationship. My focus is on psychoanalytic theory and technique, using Freud, Klein, Winnicott, Bion, Green, Lemma, Rosenfeld, and others.

I have extensive experience supervising practitioners working with anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and diverse client backgrounds, including LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and differently-abled individuals. I also engage in ongoing psychoanalytic seminars and supervision to ensure continued development.

During our supervision together, we would explore transference and countertransference relationships, defenses, dreams, and bodily sensations. We would discuss technique and theory, and I would strive to provide you with material and case studies relevant to your clinical challenges. The most important point to highlight is that our relationship will be essential in supporting your relationship with your patients and that the space I strive to provide will always be non-judgmental.
