About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Sarah.
I am passionate about offering therapeutic support to anyone who finds themselves in a situation where they feel stuck, confused, conflicted and that perhaps something or someone else maybe helpful during a difficult time. We all deserve the opportunity for additional support.
I work from a Person-Centred perspective, which means I aim to work 'with' clients in a way that feels comfortable and beneficial to them and at their pace - offering a creative, authentic and personable approach.
I have experience of working with all ages from 8 years old to 90 years old and in a variety of settings, including Schools, GP Practices and Care Homes (along with remote work via phone and online).
Practice description
Person-Centred therapy is non-judgemental and provides people with a safe, trusting and compassionate space to explore difficulties and any options that might be available, alongside gaining a better understanding of themselves.
This way of working does not limit what issues can be explored and worked with - to date I have worked with the difficulties listed below and more. If I felt you would benefit beyond my scope of knowledge, such as a more specialised service this would be communicated.
- Feel free to provide a brief overview with your enquiry and we can arrange a FREE 15 minute contact call.
My first session
Taking that first step in seeking help can be hard for many - often clients feel less daunted having had the opportunity to 'break the ice' and have their initial concerns dispelled and questions answered.
A big part of the effectiveness of counselling is the relationship between the client and counsellor. The first session allows people to get a feel of how we would work together and gain insight to me as a counsellor.
Therefore the first session would exploratory and without further commitment. It would involve a conversation around your reasons for getting in touch, what you might like to gain from counselling, plus the opportunity of getting to know each other a little. This will help both of us decide if and how we want to work together.
