About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, my name is Dawn, and I am an Accredited Member of the BACP. This means that I have met or exceeded the requirements stipulated by this organisation, agree to work to their ethical framework, and to take the steps needed to ensure that the therapy I offer is safe and of good quality. I work with adults, children, & young people and couples. I have particular experience in supporting clients who are neurodivergent. I offer short-term and longer-term therapy, and together we will find an approach that works for you.
You're unique, and your counselling should be too! That's where integrative counselling comes in. I can tailor our sessions to what works best for you.
Some days, you might need a listening ear. Other times, you might benefit from more structured techniques such as CBT, TA, solution-focused therapy, or a more creative approach.
I am here to walk beside you, whatever path you're on. Perhaps you're grappling with anxiety, mourning the loss of a loved one, or simply feeling out of sync with yourself. These feelings? They're all part of the human experience. And together, we can work through them. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can be yourself.
Practice description
Whatever brings you to counselling, whether it's anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, work stress, or simply feeling stuck, you deserve support.
I work with adults of all ages facing challenges, including anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss, life transitions and identity, work-related stress, trauma and past experiences, and self-esteem and confidence issues.
My integrative approach means I draw from different therapeutic methods to suit your individual needs. We'll work at your pace, in a way that feels right for you.
You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Sometimes you just need someone who understands the unique challenges of life, someone who sees you for who you are beyond your responsibilities to others.
My first session
Taking that first step towards counselling can feel like a big leap. That's why I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation. It's a chance for us to chat, for you to ask any questions you might have, and to get a feel for how we might work together. Think of it as a friendly, no-pressure conversation to help you decide if I'm the right fit for you. Remember, this journey is all about you, and it starts with making sure you feel comfortable and heard.
Should you wish to book an appointment following our initial consultation, our first session will consist of further collaboration and exploration of the boundaries and confidentiality that create a supportive therapeutic relationship.
