About me and my therapy practice

"Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you."

Jean-Paul Sartre

I believe therapy not only offers a space for processing confused, difficult or painful feelings but also helps self-discovery and self-development. I offer a safe space for my clients where they may explore things they have never talked about before.

My priority is to provide a confidential, empathic and accepting atmosphere in which my client is free to question, reflect upon and express their true and unique Self. I do this by developing a therapeutic connection with my client so that I accompany them on their journey side by side.

In-Person Therapy / Counselling

Areas of issues I work in includes but are not limited to:

abortion, anger, anxiety, bereavement, childhood, depression, disability, divorce, dreams, exam fear, gender, identity, LGBT+, loneliness, loss, relationship difficulties, self-awareness, self-esteem, separation, shame, stress, sexuality, trauma, work...

My special area of counselling includes working with identityautonomy and freedom and how these influence relationships with Self and Others.

In other words, how our identity and personality influence the way we feel about ourselves and other people.

Unable to express or accept our authentic self may generate a myriad of feelings such as guilt, low self-esteem or anger. Therapy can help to process these feelings and strengthen your identity. I am open to the use of creative techniques, such as dreamwork, chair work, images and symbols.

Being Integrative not only allows me the flexibility to work with various techniques but also in different modalities. Based on my training, I draw from the psychological modality of the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT approaches in general.

However, my specific approach is always tailored to my client's therapeutic needs as I recognise that each person is unique with a multitude of distinct experiences and feelings.

My first session

"Every person must choose how much truth he can stand."

Irvin D. Yalom

Taking the decision to start therapy with a counsellor is a significant choice and moment. It might feel both daunting and empowering.

During your first session, you will be able to find out if you feel comfortable with me, discuss what concerns you, ask questions, clarify confidentiality, and determine if therapy could support you.

And I will ask you about the following:

  • your reasons to seek therapy now
  • your way of coping with your issues so far
  • your previous experience of therapy
  • any thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life
  • significant childhood relationships
  • your connection to other people around you
  • your aims of therapy at this time

If we are to continue, we will set a regular time slot for your weekly sessions which will last for 50 minutes. And I will send my working agreement to you prior to starting counselling so that if you wish to negotiate any changes, we can discuss them during our next session.

The number of sessions and topics are entirely up to you, you can stop anytime. We will regularly review our work together.

About me and my therapy practice

“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” (Rumi)

I offer a safe and compassionate space, where you can explore things you may never have talked about before.

My priority is to provide a confidential, empathic and accepting atmosphere in which you are free to question, reflect upon and express your true and unique self. Through a relationship built on trust, we work together to find your own way in the maze of life.

Areas I worked within include: anger and conflict management; coping with anxiety and panic attacks; bereavement, grief and loss; childhood experiences and trauma; depression, low moods and suicidal thoughts; relationship challenges, infidelity and break-up; identity crisis and questioning a sense of self; aspects of LGBTQ and gender and sex diversity; increasing self-awareness and self-esteem; dreaming and nightmares; workplace difficulties;

My special area of counselling is related to the exploration of identity and personality in the context of relationships.

Unable to express or accept your true identity may generate a myriad of unwanted feelings such as guilt, low self-esteem or anger. Being in therapy helps you to uncover your strengths and develop new skills that will allow you to deal with the challenges that arise in life.

I offer an open, supportive and healing space to process your feelings and strengthen your identity. Together we explore your experiences and the way these shape the person you are and wish to become.

In-Person Therapy (combined with online/by phone if necessary)

Being able to explore your feelings and thoughts in person helps to develop a distinctive therapeutic awareness and presence. Hence, face-to-face counselling is a unique experience of connecting with your therapist who is authentically there for you in real-time and space.

I also believe that therapy not only offers a space for processing confused, difficult or painful feelings but also creates an opportunity for self-discovery and self-development.

As an Integrative Therapist, I have the flexibility to work from different viewpoints and with various techniques. More specifically, my integrative perspective means that I can utilise my understanding of the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT approaches to support your specific therapeutic needs.

In our work together I offer you the benefit of creative techniques, such as ‘dreamwork’, ‘chair work’, ‘therapeutic journaling’ and using ‘images and symbols’. However, these tools are only there for you to enrich your healing process and are entirely optional.

My specific approach is always tailored to my client’s therapeutic needs as I recognise that each person is unique with a multitude of distinct experiences and feelings.

I have experience in offering therapy online, by phone and in person. I provide both time-limited and open-ended therapy for adults.

I can offer therapy in English, as well as in Hungarian.

I am an LGBTQ-affirmative therapist.
