About me and my therapy practice

What would happen if we gave ourselves time to ‘switch off’, stop and stand still?

Our lives can be intricate, often highly complex and sometimes truly overwhelming.

In therapy, I invite you to recoup and connect with yourself, to find your strength, resilience and your truth.

In person centred therapy, we explore your experience through talking about your feelings and thoughts, at your own pace. This can help bring clarity.

It can naturally be a slow process, as you're not being given advice or a quick fix.

However, the benefits of deeper reflection can result in feelings of acceptance and peace.

It can help you develop resilience and a stronger, internal sense of self.

About Me:

I have a creative background and started my career in the North West, in textile art. I graduated with a BA Hons degree in Embroidery and worked as an artist for the next five years.

This included creating stitched sculptures, undertaking residencies in the UK and abroad, and delivering talks and workshops, all focussing on the presence of the hand in making.

My interest in human connection and interaction led me to work more formally with mental and emotional health as a Support Worker for people with chronic and enduring mental health issues, and in other work roles with people experiencing homelessness.

I went back to Uni and graduated with a first class MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Salford University.

Since then, I have set up a private practice and currently have over 2,500 hours of 121 sessions working individually with adults.

In private practice, I work long term (2+ years) where deeper processing is possible.

However, I adapt my approach to work in both long and short term settings, such as the NHS and EAP.

My therapy experience includes working with chronic depression, anxiety, worry, low self-esteem, relationship problems and addiction.

I am a registered practitioner with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM).
