Availability
I offer both face to face and online and feel both ways offer good practice, however it is down to peoples preference and what fits into busy lives. Our commitment to each other will be, weekly sessions to build a good therapeutic relationship, so trust can build. I offer long term therapy with a few short term sessions available.
I work week days, Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 8.30pm, Fridays - 8.00am - 1.30pm.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Emma, a Psychotherapeutic Integrative Counsellor who has experienced myself how therapy can support the most difficult times in our lives. I come along side you and together we will take steps which are most important to you. Whether it's the pain of grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression or you just feel lost or in a rut. We can sometimes be stuck in a cycle of unhealthy relationships, or patterns of behaviour we want to change but don't know where to begin. I believe there are times we all need support to understand ourselves and look at how we perceive a changing world and where we fit into it. Depending on our childhood experiences things can look and feel frighting or overwhelming. I offer 60 minutes, weekly sessions. As a Person Centred Therapist, trained in Polyvagal theory I can gently guide grounding, & centring, anxiety and low mood. Empowering you, in your own life. Our time together is a none judgmental, safe place for you to explore, in a comfortable space with an outlook to nature.
Practice description
It is important to me you find the right therapist for you, so send me a brief email explaining what to arrange an initial free 20 minute appointment. This call is different from sessions, I explain how I work and hear more about your reasons for wanting therapy. We both then discus together how we move forward putting our diary's together, day and time each week we are happy to commit to.
My first session
Due to the work we do together being relational, the first session is really based on me giving you the space to share your story and have a professional, none judgmental ear. Together seeing what is important for you to get out of our time together and look at a time line and way that feels comfortable for you. I offer talking therapy, and pull on different things to give a more personalised experience. Getting to know each other for trust to build and sharing what works and doesn't work takes time and commitment to each other. I pull on C.B.T, and Transactional Analysis, but my main theory is Person Centred Humanistic.
