About me and my therapy practice

Creative Arts Counselling for Children and Adolescents

Are you looking for counselling support for your child or teenager? Creative art therapy can help young people explore their emotions, build self-esteem, manage stress, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in a safe and supportive way.

Creative art counselling does not require any artistic ability or prior experience. The focus is not on the finished artwork, but on the process of creating. Through the use of creative materials, children and adolescents can express feelings and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. This process can unlock stories, memories, and emotions, offering new insights and opportunities for reflection through therapeutic dialogue.

Engaging in creative expression can support emotional regulation, help young people understand and manage their feelings and behaviours, and foster increased self-awareness, confidence, and resilience.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, registered with the BACP (MBACP), and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. I work integratively, informed by neuroscience and attachment theory, and place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work.

I hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate.

Practice description

I am offering face to face sessions in a warm, calm and friendly environment.

West Hampstead London NW6

My first session

I offer an initial telephone conversation to discuss your concerns and answer any questions. This is followed by a consultation to explore your child’s needs in more depth and to determine the best way forward.

Some children and young people benefit from short-term support over a few weeks, while others may find longer-term therapy more helpful. This is usually reviewed after six sessions.

Sessions are held once a week at a regular day and time, providing a consistent and reliable therapeutic space. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
