About me and my therapy practice

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. By understanding the deep emotional narrative the client can gain a better understanding of themselves. I work with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, health anxiety, boarding school issues, workplace issues, loss and bereavement. My practice involves face to face counselling as well as remote counselling and I do both short term and long term counselling.

I qualified at City Lit as an integrative counsellor and carried out my clinical hours at Waterloo Community Counselling, Caris Islington Bereavement Service and Camden, City, Islington and Westminster Bereavement Service

Practice description

I am an integrative counsellor who works with person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. I believe that each client is unique and that no single modality suits all. I think that our early attachments can impact on us and how we attach to others in later life. I believe that given a safe and supportive space we are able to fulfil our potential and we can start making decisions from a position of self awareness. One of the most important things in therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. I think I provide a sensitive, warm and thoughtful space for the client to find themselves.

My background is in law and television. I trained as a barrister and worked in a solicitor's office. I was also a producer/director of documentaries in television. I recognise the pressures and stresses that can be part of working life.

I have a fully enhanced DBS check and I am a registered member of the BACP. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics. I am also an accredited registrant of the NCPS.

My first session

I offer the first telephone appointment for 30 minutes free of charge. This first session is an initial assessment where I will ask some general questions to explore the issues that you face. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me questions to find out more about the way that I practice. There is no commitment to further therapy at this stage. It is an initial assessment for me to understand your issues and for you to decide if you want to proceed with the therapy.
