About me and my therapy practice
I currently have a few counselling slots available for new clients.
I work with adults and children from age 13.
As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I incorporate different theoretical models, skills and techniques to meet the unique needs of each individual client. This means that sometimes we will look at what is happening in the present, the areas of life that may be causing distress and what that looks and feels like. Other times we may delve into the past and explore the origins of issues and the impact they have on daily life. We may look at thinking and behaviour patterns, feelings, emotions, defences. I do not give advice but help you find your own way. Where appropriate, I'll provide information and exercises that may increase understanding of causes of distress and symptoms, as well as help to manage those symptoms.
I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced sexual, domestic, emotional, or developmental abuse.
I am particularly interested in how the body responds to trauma, stress, anxiety and repressed emotion and we will work on learning to notice, interpret and regulate these responses.
My approach is non-directive, non-judgemental, open-minded, down to earth, creative, challenging when needed. I believe that there's a place for humour and creativity in the counselling room and both can be used to enhance the counselling experience. Ultimately, I am motivated to help clients find the awareness, clarity and resources to help themselves.
I deliver short and long term psychotherapy and counselling in both the charity and private sectors, working with a broad range of issues and with people from varied walks of life.

About me and my therapy practice
Currently accepting new clients.
I work with adults and teenagers and have extensive experience and specific training working with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD and loss.
As a qualified, integrative counsellor, I incorporate different theoretical models, skills and techniques to meet the unique needs of each client. Other times we may delve into the past and explore the origins of issues and the impact they have on daily life. We may look at thinking and behaviour patterns, feelings, emotions, defences, incorporating aspects of CBT where appropriate. I do not give advice but help you find your own way. Where appropriate, I'll provide information about causes of distress and symptoms, as well as techniques for symptom management.
When working with complex trauma and PTSD, I am trained in delivering the CATT technique to help process traumatic memories in a safe, child-friendly way. This is appropriate for adults as well. CATT is a trauma-focused therapy combining CBT with creative therapy methods whilst focusing on the client's safety and well-being.
