About me and my therapy practice
I'm an Integrative counsellor and therefore integrate various styles of therapy, depending on what suits your needs. Everyone is unique and I like to tailor the sessions to individual needs. At the base of my work is a person centred approach, which allows for us to gain a strong therapeutic relationship and a good understanding of what you would like from therapy. CBT provides a structured approach to sessions. I work with young adults and adults. I have experience across a range of settings, including schools, GP practices, MIND, the NHS, and Cheshire Police. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each individual. I strive to offer a warm, supportive space where people can feel comfortable, understood, and at ease during sessions.
Practice description
Within our initial chat we will discuss what approach to therapy may seem most suitable for you.
At the core of my therapy is a person-centred approach, which means I place you at the heart of the work we do together. My role is not to judge, or lead you, but to listen, understand, and support you. I aim to provide a safe, respectful, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Through empathy, honesty, and acceptance, I support you in developing greater self-understanding and finding your own ways forward.
I also offer a CBT-informed approach, but in a way that feels human, warm, and flexible — not clinical or rigid. This approach is more structured and directive than talking therapy. We look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours connect, and work together to gently shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Sessions are collaborative and down-to-earth, with space for real conversation, curiosity, and compassion.
My first session
Within the first session we will complete a short core assessment form. This helps us identify any areas that may be worth a focus and to set goals (if you so wish to do so). Having this structure is vital to therapy and ensures you are getting the most from the sessions as possible. At the same time, the assessment is a very small section of the first appointment. The core of the sessions provides you with a space to process, reflect and unburden. We will work together to help you feel the best version of yourself.
