About me and my therapy practice

I'm an Integrative counsellor and therefore integrate various styles of therapy, depending on what suits your needs. Everyone is unique and I like to tailor the sessions to individual needs. At the base of my work is a person centred approach, which allows for us to gain a strong therapeutic relationship and a good understanding of what you would like from therapy. If CBT feels like an approach which would be beneficial, we can integrate this as needed. CBT provides a structured approach to sessions. I work with young adults and adults and have experience across a range of settings, including schools, GP practices, MIND, the NHS, and Cheshire Police. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for each individual. I strive to offer a warm, supportive space where people can feel comfortable, understood, and at ease during sessions.

Practice description

Within our initial chat we will discuss what approach to therapy may seem most suitable for you.

At the core of my therapy is person-centred approach, which means I place you at the heart of the work we do together. My role is never to judge, lead or direct you, but to listen, understand, and support you. I aim to provide a safe, respectful, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Through empathy, honesty, and acceptance, I support you in developing greater self-understanding and finding your own ways forward.

Often, i also combine a CBT-informed approach, but in a way that feels human, warm, and flexible — not clinical or rigid. This approach is more structured and directive than talking therapy. We look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours connect, and work together to gently shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Sessions are collaborative and down-to-earth, with space for real conversation, curiosity, and compassion.

My first session

Within the first session we will complete 2 core assessment forms. This is so that we can track progress over the course of the sessions and identify any areas that may be worth a focus. These assessments are important to the foundation of therapy, in that it ensures that the sessions are tailored to your goals and you are getting the most from the sessions as possible. At the same time, the assessment is a very small section (usually lasting between 2-10 minutes depending), so as not to distract from the heart of the session.
