About me and my therapy practice

I am passionate about supporting people as they try to come to terms with a loss they are facing and have worked with many people grieving following the death of a loved one, loss of health, the end of a relationship and more.

Non-death Loss

Being able to identify and name life experiences as losses worthy of grief can be an important part of healing. Often, we tend to identify death as being the only life event worthy of grief. But so many other less tangible types of loss deserve to and need to also be acknowledged and mourned. For example, loss of confidence, ill-health. You may have lost a sense of belonging or struggle to trust others. Whatever it is, you may be experiencing feelings of intense sorrow or deep distress - this is grief.

In today's fast-paced world, our experiences of loss are quickly pushed aside as we are forced to 'get on with it'. Counselling can provide you with a sense of connection, support & understanding as you navigate the complex emotions and uncertainties that accompany grief.

Bereavement

As a loss and grief counsellor, I recognise the profound impact that the death of a loved one can have on a person. Grieving is a unique, personal journey with no predefined 'normal' response or fixed timescale, despite societal expectations.

It is important to remember that grief is a natural process, and many will have some form of support from friends and family which can sometimes be enough. However, often, the amount of time a friend has to offer will be limited and isn't always enough for the person in need.

Bereavement counselling gives you the time you need to talk about the person who has died and how their death is affecting you. I offer you a place to come where you can be as messy as your grief is. It can be somewhere for you let go, to be angry, cry, laugh, remember them in your own way and to acknowledge how hard things are without having to protect others from your feelings.

Practice description

From June 2024 I will be based from The Blossom Tree Clinic in Pinner.

The Blossom Tree Clinic is located in the heart of Pinner just off the high street. It is just a few minutes from Pinner train station and bus routes H12, H13 and 183.

Blossom Tree Clinic is easily accessible from Hillingdon and Harrow including Pinner, Northwood, Northwood Hills, North Harrow, Eastcote, Ruislip, Ickenham, Uxbridge, West Harrow, South Harrow and Harrow on the Hill.

Parking is available on the street outside the clinic, free for the first hour. Love Lane car park is a 2 minute walk up the road and has ample parking spaces as a small cost.

I am located on the first floor of the building. There are stairs leading up to the counselling room and unfortunately there is no lift available.

My first session

Before booking our first session, I suggest that we have a phone call (free of charge) to discuss what you are looking for support with and to see if working together may be beneficial for you.

If you would then like to book your first session, we will agree a convenient day and time for a consultation.

Consultation: 90 minutes £85.00.

Follow up sessions: 60 minutes £70.00.

Sessions are weekly and usually, will be on the same day, at the same time. I offer both short-term and long-term support and usually discuss what you would like this to be during our first session.

The therapeutic relationship is fundamentally important to the counselling process and is the most important factor which influences how effective therapy is. The consultation provides an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy in more detail, what your hopes are and for you to get a feel for therapy and to decide if it is right for you.

If any of what you have read today has resonated with you, please contact me to arrange a call. We can then have a chat about your hopes, expectations or worries about counselling and from there, we may be able to book our first consultation session.

About me and my therapy practice

Bereavement

As a grief counsellor, I recognise the profound impact that loss can have on a person. Grieving is a unique, personal journey with no predefined 'normal' response or fixed timescale, despite societal expectations. Are you currently grappling with overwhelming feelings of solitude, tormented by the notion of never experiencing the presence of your loved one again? Do you find yourself contemplating the moments and milestones they will miss in your life? It's not uncommon to feel stuck, lost, anxious, and fearful while others around you seem to be navigating life more smoothly.

Bereavement counselling gives you the time to talk about the person who has died and how their death is affecting you. It allows you to find healthy ways of coping and to talk about your thoughts, feelings, your relationship with the person who has died and others in your life.

Loss

Being able to identify and name life experiences as losses worthy of grief can be an important part of healing. Yet often, we tend to identify death as being the only life event worthy of grief.

I am particularly passionate about supporting individuals who have received challenging health diagnoses, with a focus on autoimmune diseases. Perhaps you have endured a prolonged period, spanning months or even years, before receiving your diagnosis. I wonder if you are struggling with feelings of fear, isolation, disappointment in your body, or anger?

In today's fast-paced world, our experiences of loss are quickly pushed aside as we are forced to 'get on with it'. Engaging in conversation can provide you with a sense of connection and support, helping you work through the challenges of grief. I will provide understanding and support as you navigate the complex emotions and uncertainties that accompany loss and grief.

If you think you may benefit from counselling, I would be very happy to arrange a call and answer any questions you may have.
