About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Poppy, a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor based just outside of London, offering warm, supportive and non-judgemental counselling for adults, children and young people.

I believe everyone deserves to feel heard and understood, and to have a safe space where they can talk openly about what is happening in their lives. Sometimes we know exactly what is troubling us; at other times, we simply know that things don’t feel right. Counselling can provide an opportunity to slow things down, explore what you are experiencing and begin to understand yourself and your relationships in greater depth.

I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life changes and feeling overwhelmed. You do not necessarily need to have a specific diagnosis or know exactly what you want to talk about- sometimes having someone alongside you can be enough to begin making sense of things.

Alongside my work with adults, I have specialist training and experience working therapeutically with children and young people under 25. I offer an approach that is adapted to the individual, recognising that children and young people may express their feelings in different ways from adults.

As a psychodynamic counsellor, I am interested not only in what is happening for you now, but also in how past experiences, relationships and patterns may be influencing the way you feel and respond to things today. We can explore these gently and at your own pace, without judgement.

If you are looking for remote therapy that can fit around work and would like to find out whether counselling might be helpful for you, please contact me at poppy.noy@outlook.com to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor with a BACP-approved supervision qualification. I offer a supportive, collaborative and reflective space for counsellors and therapists to explore their clinical work, develop their practice and build confidence in their professional judgement.

My approach to supervision is primarily informed by psychodynamic thinking, with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, unconscious processes and the ways in which our own experiences and responses can inform our understanding of clients. I aim to balance thoughtful challenge with warmth and support, creating a space where you can bring uncertainty, difficult cases and the aspects of your work that feel more challenging.

Supervision can provide an opportunity to explore case formulation, relational dynamics, ethical dilemmas, professional boundaries and the emotional impact of therapeutic work. I believe that effective supervision encourages curiosity, supports ethical practice and helps us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves as practitioners.

Alongside my work with adults, I have specialist training in working with children and young people, including those under 25. I welcome supervisees working with clients across different age groups and at varying stages of their professional development, from newly qualified practitioners to more experienced therapists.

My aim is to offer a collaborative supervisory relationship in which you feel able to reflect openly, develop your clinical confidence and continue to grow in your work.

I offer clinical supervision in Colchester and online. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your supervision needs and explore whether we might work well together.
