About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My initial training was in psychodynamic counselling, and I now work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches. This way of working allows me to tailor therapy to your unique experiences and circumstances.
I am qualified in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD). These specialist approaches enable me to support clients experiencing trauma, depression, and a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Sometimes life can take us down a road we never expected to be on, and we can find ourselves facing difficulties and challenges that feel overwhelming. Counselling offers you the opportunity to explore and address some of the problems you may be experiencing in a safe, supportive and confidential space.
I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role as your counsellor is not to offer advice or tell you what to do, but to listen with empathy, help you make sense of what is happening, and support you in finding your own way forward. I aim to help you feel empowered to make decisions that create positive and lasting change. My sessions are client-led, meaning you can choose what you would like to talk about and work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I believe the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is central to the counselling process. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing and impacting your everyday life.
