About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Counsellor, accredited by the BACP and qualified in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD). I am also currently training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and, having completed Part 3 of my training, I am able to offer EMDR therapy to clients.

Sometimes life can take us down a road we never expected to be on, and we can find ourselves facing difficulties and challenges that feel overwhelming. Counselling offers you the opportunity to explore and address some of the problems you may be experiencing in a safe, supportive and confidential space.

I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role as your Counsellor is not to offer advice or tell you what to do, but to listen with empathy, help you make sense of what is happening, and support you in finding your own way forward. I aim to help you feel empowered to make decisions that create positive and lasting change. My sessions are client-led, meaning you can choose what you would like to talk about and work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I believe the therapeutic relationship between Counsellor and Client is central to the counselling process. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing and impacting your everyday life.

Practice description

Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a Counsellor within the NHS, for a charitable service organisation, and with a number of Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers. I have also previously worked within NHS Talking Therapies services (formerly IAPT). Through these roles, I have gained considerable experience supporting a wide range of clients and presentations, particularly individuals who have experienced trauma.

I initially trained in the psychodynamic approach, but now work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic theories and approaches according to your individual need.

Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) are NICE-recommended therapies used within NHS Talking Therapies services.

My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
