About me and my therapy practice

Have you wondered what it might be like to have a trusted space and time where you might explore who you are, to voice what gives you sorrow or joy and what might be possible for you?

My way of working offers a way to explore what it is like to be you in the world of others in which you find yourself.  It brings to light for you how you might find meaning, freedom and new possibilities in your life.   You may experience a different way of being listened to and being with another person in a boundaried space where you can be free to bring your thoughts, feelings and story. There will not be “homework”, judgement, agenda or set goals, but a journey together to allow what might become and to bring to awareness what may be elusive for you and to realise change.

I trained at the Regents School of Psychotherapy & Psychology at Regents University, London and have a MA in Psychotherapy & Counselling (awarded with Distinction).  I completed my training with award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Existential Psychotherapy.

Practice description

I work with people who are experiencing Anxiety, Depression or difficulties with mood, have feelings of being stuck in life, are questioning identity, struggling with relationships, going through trouble at work or with creative process or who are experiencing times of adversity and loss.

Informed by a rich life experience, I have interests in LGB issues and experience, the impacts of workplace bullying and redundancy, maternal and gynaecological mental health, intergenerational trauma, and in the process of performers and creative artists.

My first session

I like to start with a short introductory conversation online to discuss the practicalities, what brings you and what you may be seeking.   We will look at how we might work together and this will be as much an opportunity for you to ask questions and find out what it is like to be with me, as for me to establish some basic information and to understand what working together might offer.  I do not charge for this.

I will then schedule a first session in person or online for which I charge my standard fee.  You do not have to commit to continue the work at this stage.  This session, however, may be a beginning of our process of discovery of your self and life.

For couples, we begin with establishing a way of listening and exploring together where I am and impartial ally in helping you to bring to awareness how the relationship is experienced by each of you and how it is to be together as the individuals you are.
