About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for help takes courage at a time when you might be struggling, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or generally stuck. My aim is to help you feel comfortable and safe within therapy, to build trust, and help you work through what has led you to reach out.
I offer, with warmth and sensitivity, a confidential and non-judgemental space where we can explore whatever is on your mind.
You might want to talk to me about feeling anxious or depressed, a stressful life event, health related worries, dealing with a loss or change, relationship difficulties or breakdowns, trauma you have experienced, work related issues e.g. burnout or bullying, or identity struggles.
I can help you by providing a calm and reflective space where we can work through what is going on for you. Counselling can help to:
- gain a greater level of understanding about yourself and your situation
- improve your well-being and develop new coping strategies
- process past experiences or future worries so that you can move forwards and feel more in control of your life
- heal from trauma and find emotional balance
- build your self-esteem, confidence, or personal resilience
- support you to make changes to live a more fulfilling or peaceful life
Practice description
I have worked as a therapist in a variety of settings within the voluntary and higher education sectors, helping clients of all ages with a wide range of issues and concerns.
I am a relationally trained counsellor and psychotherapist which means I see a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship as key to bringing about change. I work in an integrative way which means I use a range of different counselling theories and techniques depending on the nature of the issue, and will tailor my approach to what might work best to meet your needs.
We would work together at a pace that suits you.
I currently offer sessions in-person (Saltaire), online by video, and by telephone. Flexible appointments - daytime and evening.
