About me and my therapy practice
I'm a fully qualified and MBACP accredited neurodivergent person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, mainly (but not exclusively) working within the LGBTQIA+ community. I work with individuals and couples (including contemporary multi partner relationships).
Working relationally, we can begin working through issues such as self worth, communication patterns, boundaries and trust, helping you to navigate those blocks within your relationships that are causing difficulties, We work to create a deeper understanding of your needs and sense of self.
I regularly work with neurodivergence, including ADHD, autism and AuDHD. We can work through issues surrounding pathological demand avoidance (PDA), rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), hyperfocus, task paralysis and emotional dysregulation. When working with couples, we can explore how that's affecting your relationship.
I offer a relaxed, judgement free, friendly space with no pressure or assumptions. You just bring you, and I will bring me to our sessions and we can take it from there.
I have a FdSc degree in person-centred counselling under the University of Brighton, together with an NCIP accredited certificate in working with couples. I'm currently working towards a level 7 post grad certificate in psychosexual and relationship counselling. I regularly attend further training to inform my way of working with clients. I'm also an accredited member of the British Association for Psychotherapists and Counsellors (‘BACP’) and I adhere to their Ethical Framework in my practice.
I hold public liability insurance and an enhanced DBS check.
Practice description
I work in a relational manner in our sessions where together we look at patterns of beliefs and explore thoughts and behaviours. You might have a stuck feeling or frustation around not being heard or understood. We go where you need or want to go, at a pace that feels right for you.
I am able to provide therapy face to face in my therapy room in central Eastbourne, East Sussex, online via zoom or via telephone. Sessions lengths are 50 minutes for individuals and 60 minutes for couples.
My first session
So what now? You've taken the first step by searching for a counsellor to help you which can, in itself, can feel a little daunting so I offer a no-obligation free short initial zoom or telephone session to explore what brings you to therapy at this time and what you're hoping to achieve from it. It's so important that your therapist is the right fit for you so this allows you a space to see if that person could be with me.
I'll meet you there, human to human, to see if together we can help make things a little easier for you. You don't have to struggle on your own. So why not drop me an email to see how I could help you?
