Practice description

My aim is to help you develop a better understanding of yourself and of your relationships, to clear away some of the fog so that you can better see what you are facing. This can help you to feel more in control and lead you to making effective changes in your life or to find better ways of coping with your problems.

People seek counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing painful emotions or feelings of anxiety, even panic. You may have lost someone close to you or be struggling with relationships in your personal life or at work. Something from your past may be interfering with your daily life, bringing difficult thoughts and feelings. Many people also feel stuck or dissatisfied in their lives, perhaps finding it difficult to make decisions or know what to do for the best. It is not uncommon for people to become aware of patterns in their lives where bad things seem to repeat themselves and they don't know why or how to change it.

It takes courage to seek help and I will provide a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without feeling judged or misunderstood. This can help you to make sense of what you are feeling and allow you feel more truly yourself.

I believe that how we see ourselves is defined by how we relate to other people. The counselling relationship provides a safe space to explore and experience different ways of relating, giving you the confidence to be yourself and to feel more at home in the world and with yourself. I will work together with you to agree on your aims and goals and work to build a shared understanding of what is important for you in a warm and accepting and meaningful way.

Practice description

I work from an integrative theoretical base drawing on Relational, Humanistic, and Existential approaches. My supervision practice is grounded in the values and principles of the BACP Ethical Framework, with particular emphasis on respect, integrity, collaboration, and professional responsibility.

Central to my approach is the belief that effective supervision is rooted in a safe, trusting, and relationally attuned supervisory relationship. I aim to offer a space in which supervisees feel supported to reflect openly and honestly on their work, while remaining attentive to ethical standards, professional boundaries, and client welfare.

My work as a supervisor is informed by core personal values of fairness, respect for others, collaboration, and an attitude of acceptance, kindness, and humanity. These values shape how I approach ethical and moral dilemmas in supervision, supporting supervisees to think critically, hold complexity, and make considered professional decisions consistent with their own values and professional expectations.

I aim to create supervisory relationships in which supervisees can think clearly, act with integrity, and sustain themselves emotionally and ethically in their work. Supervision attends not only to client material, but also to the supervisee’s internal process, relational dynamics, and the wider professional and organisational contexts in which practice takes place.

I offer a supportive, collaborative, and encouraging supervisory space, alongside appropriate structure, direction, and purpose. Supervision is shaped collaboratively and responsively, with attention to professional development, ethical accountability, and the ongoing development of reflective, self-aware, and resilient practitioners.

I work with counsellors based in a variety of settings, including trainees and experienced practitioners.
