About me and my therapy practice

I know there are times in life when you feel you just can’t do it on your own anymore. There’s this place where you don’t want to be, and it hurts. It really hurts. And it won’t go away.

It can really help to have someone there with you – when you’re in pain, overwhelmed and maybe unsure why you are feeling the way you do. Someone you can talk to, who really understands.

I offer a non-judgemental and empathic space in your life where we can work together to pause and reflect, and draw on strengths you had maybe forgotten you had.

This isn’t just about reducing stress and anxiety, or alleviating depression, it’s about building up the will and ability to make meaningful changes and move forward.

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering therapy for anyone who may be experiencing a period of reflection, change or emotional difficulty.

I will be there alongside you as we begin to explore your feelings, helping you to understand patterns of behaviour and process difficult experiences, confidentially and at your own pace.

Practice description

My approach is client-centred, compassionate, and rooted in evidence-based practice as well as personal experiences, ensuring a safe and confidential environment for personal growth and healing.

Before training as a therapist nearly ten years ago, I ran my own marketing consultancy specialising in the legal, accounting and financial sectors. I also worked with a charity in the Caribbean which raised funds to provide scholarships for students moving into secondary education.

I have lived and worked in the UK, Germany and Jamaica, which has given me an opportunity to bring a culturally attuned aspect to my therapy. My time in Jamaica has also allowed me an insight into altered states of consciousness and the use of psychedelics in therapy. Psychedelics are not illegal in Jamaica and I was able to take part in facilitator training with a licensed retreat company, writing about my experiences for the BACP’s member publication, Therapy Today.

In recent times I have worked with a charity providing support to survivors of domestic abuse as well as a charity offering subsidised therapy to people on low incomes.
