Availability
I provide counselling for young people between 12 and 18 years old. I am available for telephone and online counselling 10.00am to 19.00 Monday and Tuesdays and after 5.00pm Wednesday to Friday and 10.00am to 13.00pm Saturdays. I also offer face to face sessions in Paisley town Centre at these times.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experience young person counsellor and currently work within higher education . I take a person centered approach top working with Young People using a variety of creative therapy to support coping skills.
These include boundary setting, communication skills, relationship building, self esteem and anxiety management. I am interested in helping Young people to utilize their strenghts and my practice is centered around developing self compassion and conflict resolution.

I am an experienced accredited therapist and I have an enhanced PVG disclosure statues for working with young people.
I liaise with parent's to ensure that young people are provided with age appropriate material to support change. I provide a confidential service, and communicate in a transparent ethical manner. I am trained in safeguarding and have regular Supervision.
Concessions can be negotiated with parents on low income or benefits.
My first session
Session one is aimed at gathering relevant information about the Young persons situation. The therapeutic relationship starts at this session.
I work in a therapeutic alliance with Young people and, if appropriate, parent's, the parameters of this arranging are agreed on during the 1st session.
My fee for counselling is £60 per session and I offer a sliding scale for those on low income and or benefits.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP accredited Therapist with experience of working with trauma, addictions depression and anxiety. I have a wide range of experience and skills and incorporate sound Theory based practices that I have developed over 2 decades in the care sector. My Approach is integrated using Cognitive Behavioral and compassionate focused therapy and Mindfulness practice. I provide individual therapy face to face or by telephone or online Zoom sessions. I work with Young people 12- 18 and adults and can also provide couples counselling.
Practice description
My practice is based in Renfrewshire Scotland with my main practice room located in Paisley. I can also see Clients in Glasgow and surrounding areas. I have a 22 year track record of providing high quality therapy tailored to your specific requirements.
My sessions last 50 minutes and I also provide a detailed individual treatment plan incorporating resources and exercises to support your goals.
I also provide walk and talk therapy and creative writing and art based therapy.
My first session
My website provides an overview of what to expect when you attend your first session. I start by arranging a free 30 minute consultation by telephone or zoom. You can decide if you what I offer suits your needs. This gives me the opportunity to consider if what you require is within the scope of my practice.
If you arrange a session I provide a contract and we arrange for 3 sessions followed by a review. The contract sets out my policy on confidentiality, times, payment options and cancelation and complaints policy.
I also send you a clients detail form to gather information and details of what to expect and information on data protection.

About me and my therapy practice
I provide supervision to CBT and integrative therapist and students. I am CBT orientated with an integrative approach incorporating Mindfulness and Mindfulness compassion therapy into my client work.
I am an accredited therapist with BACP and Trained in a broadly person centered form of supervision practice. As a supervisee you can expect a high level of support encouragement from me as your supervisor. I work to the ethical standards of BACP and I will work with you as you progress your practice. Along the way we will pay attention to the importance of ethnics and policies around safeguarding , data protection and confidentiality
Practice description
Our work is analogous to the work we do with counselling clients but differs in some respects.
Working together to build a strong therapeutic alliance will be a key element of our work together.
Continuing Professional development and training will also be a part of our sessions as we develop an understanding of your ongoing needs ass a therapist.
Concerns regarding clients work are the central theme of our supervision and this will be guided by our respect and concern for your clients. We will also be guided by the procedures and policies of the BACP and your own employers ethical framework.
You can expect me to actively listen and respond to your requirements within the supervision process, within my own understanding and expertise.
Fo students a 3 or 4 way contract may be required and i will complete any feedback reports as required.
My first session
Our first point of contact will be a phone call or video conference to discuss you supervision needs .
This helps us both to decide if we a re good match and that we can work together depending on each others expectations.
To help we would then meet to complete our contract ,discuss fees hours and format. The contract is a working document and can i needed, be amended in accordance with any changes to our circumstances and practice.
