I am currently accepting new clients. If you're considering counselling, I offer a free initial telephone consultation to answer any questions and see whether we feel like the right fit to work together.
I work online only, offering secure sessions via Microsoft Teams. Appointments are available during the day and in the evenings, Monday to Friday, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
I am a fully qualified counsellor, registered with the BACP, fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and am currently completing specialist training as a Trauma Therapist.
About me and my therapy practice
Life can feel overwhelming at times. You might find yourself constantly on edge, exhausted from overthinking, stuck in patterns you don't fully understand, or carrying experiences that continue to affect you long after they happened. You may have become so used to surviving that you no longer know what it feels like to truly feel safe.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, loss, panic attacks, low self-worth, people-pleasing, family relationships, work-related stress, or the lasting impact of childhood experiences or trauma. Together, we can begin to make sense of what you're experiencing with curiosity rather than judgement.
My approach is warm, compassionate and trauma-informed. Alongside providing a supportive space to talk, I help clients understand how trauma and the nervous system can influence emotions, thoughts, behaviours and relationships. Therapy isn't about asking "What's wrong with you?"; it's about gently exploring "What happened to you?" and supporting you in moving towards greater understanding, regulation, and self-compassion.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to your individual needs. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling, so together we will explore your experiences, identify what feels important to you, and work at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I don't expect you to have all the answers or even know where to begin. My role is to create a space where you feel safe enough to slow down, become curious about your experiences, and begin to make sense of your thoughts, emotions and nervous system without judgement. I believe many of the ways we think, feel and respond make perfect sense when we understand what we've lived through.
My work is trauma-informed and grounded in an understanding of how the brain, body and nervous system respond to adversity. Together we may explore the patterns that have developed throughout your life, how your past experiences continue to influence your present, and how your nervous system has adapted to protect you. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?" we begin to explore, "What happened to me?" From there, we can work towards greater self-awareness, emotional regulation and lasting change.
I have a particular interest in working with trauma, developmental trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, low self-worth, and men's mental health. I also enjoy helping clients understand their nervous system through psychoeducation, empowering them to make sense of their emotional and physical responses with greater compassion.
Alongside counselling, I am a certified Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) practitioner. IEMT is a gentle, non-disclosure approach, meaning you do not need to revisit or describe traumatic events in detail. It can be helpful for a range of difficulties, including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and phobias.
My first session
Before our first session, I will send you an intake form and counselling agreement. During our initial consultation call, we will explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your hopes for counselling, and answer any questions you may have as we begin working together.
Please call 07449 339151, and we can arrange a free informal chat.
