About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, gentle and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is troubling you and begin to understand yourself more deeply. As a psychodynamic counsellor, I work collaboratively with you to explore not only the difficulties you are experiencing now, but also how past experiences, early relationships and patterns may be influencing the way you feel, think and relate to others today.
My approach is compassionate and tailored to your individual needs. Together, we can explore feelings, experiences and patterns that may be difficult to make sense of, helping you develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your self-esteem and build more fulfilling relationships. I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement.
I have experience supporting people with childhood trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds and the impact of emotionally challenging relationships. I also recognise the influence of culture, family expectations and life experiences on our sense of identity and belonging.
My aim is to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself, making sense of your experiences and finding a way forward that feels right for you. I work with clients online across the UK.
Practice description
At Judy Khoury Therapy, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and supported. I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly when you have spent a long time managing things on your own. My aim is to help you feel comfortable enough to explore what is troubling you at your own pace, without fear of judgement.
As a psychodynamic counsellor, I work with you to explore both your current difficulties and how past experiences, early relationships and learned patterns may be shaping your feelings, behaviours and relationships today. Together, we can begin to make sense of these experiences, develop greater self-awareness and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
I support adults experiencing childhood trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, attachment difficulties, relationship problems and the lasting impact of emotionally challenging or narcissistic relationships. You may find yourself repeating familiar patterns, struggling to set boundaries, feeling that you are never enough, or finding it difficult to understand your own needs. Whatever brings you to counselling, we can explore it together at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe that counselling is a collaborative process, and I tailor my approach to your individual experiences and needs. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting; sometimes, simply having a space to talk openly can be the beginning of understanding yourself differently.
I am a BACP Registered Member with over eight years of experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds. I offer counselling in English and Arabic, with an understanding of the complexities of cultural identity, family expectations and belonging. Sessions are offered online, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. I understand that taking the first step can feel daunting, so I aim to create a warm, relaxed and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
We will talk about what you are experiencing, what you hope to gain from counselling and what feels important for you to share. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and you do not need to have everything figured out before we meet.
It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share any concerns and see whether you feel comfortable working with me. Together, we can consider how counselling might support you and agree on a way forward that feels right for you.
My priority is that you feel heard, respected and supported from the very beginning.
