About me and my therapy practice
Life can be a challenge. We all experience difficult times in life and can sometimes feel stuck, overwhelmed or lost. It may be that you’re coming to terms with a challenging life event, navigating a time of transition, or generally feeling unsure of the best way forward for you.
I have a warm, supportive approach and experience of working with clients dealing with issues such as relationship difficulties – including betrayals and breakups – anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, addiction and bereavement. I'm also trained in supporting adults with ADHD. With this support can come clarity, healing and growth.
As a person-centred counsellor, my role is to create a safe, supportive space where you have the freedom to talk about how you're feeling with someone who isn’t a friend or a family member, and reflect on what you want from life.
Rather than telling you what to do, I’ll support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, allowing you to gain more clarity and understanding, and reach your own conclusions and solutions. The aim is to help you find a way towards greater self-awareness and resilience, and a life that feels more meaningful and purposeful to you.
My work with couples focuses on areas such as improving communication, managing conflict and negotiating stressful times. My approach here is more integrative, drawing on different relationship theories, models and strategies. I especially welcome gender, sexuality and relationship-diverse clients.
I'm a fully-qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP, and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework.
I have completed specialist training to gain a professional Certificate in Couple/Relationship Therapy accredited by COSRT at Level 5. I also have a Certificate in Adult ADHD+ with Dr James Kustow.
Practice description
My clients range in age and life experience. As well as having my own private practice, I'm an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, a Bereavement Volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support and a volunteer counsellor with We Are With You.
I speak to clients face-to-face, online via Zoom or over the phone. Sessions for individual clients are an hour long, and 75 minutes for couples. I offer both short and long-term therapy.
My first session
To allow you to get a better understanding of counselling and how we might work together, I offer a free, 20-minute introductory phone call.
In our first session, we can talk more about what brings you to therapy and what you’d like to get out of our sessions, and you can get a better sense of whether my style and approach suit you.
