About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome to you,
My name is Shomari, I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with a background in relational and developmental psychotherapy. More importantly though, I am a regular person like you that understands how it feels when the dots just don't seem to be connecting.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted? Perhaps your relationships feel strained, or you’re carrying pressures that no one else seems to fully understand. You may want things in your life to change but feel unsure where to begin.
I understand how that feels and that understanding is the foundation on which my practice is built.
Here's what you can expect from me:
✨A confidential, safe, warm and supportive space that is free from judgement where you can speak openly and honestly at your own pace.
✨An approach that is rooted in building genuine connection and ensuring that you feel heard, understood, and supported. Whether you are navigating anxiety, low mood, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, family challenges, identity struggles, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself.
✨Compassion and Respect; You’ll be heard, valued and respected exactly as you are.
✨Practical and Emotional Support that goes beyond just providing techniques, and encourages in-depth understand of self and what is/isn't working for you.
Who I work with:
Adults
Young People (16+)
I have extensive experience working with teenagers and families in a therapeutic capacity. I have worked within schools and residential supported living with looked-after children. I have gained a deep understanding of the emotional pressures young people and families face. I recognise that individual struggles are often connected to wider family dynamics, relationships, life experiences, and environments.
Together, we will create a space where you feel safe enough to explore what is happening beneath the surface, while also building practical understanding, emotional resilience, and healthier ways of coping.
Practice description
My therapeutic work takes place online, allowing you to access support from a space that feels comfortable and familiar to you. For online therapy, you will need a stable internet connection and access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer with audio/video capabilities.
I also ask that sessions are attended from a private and quiet space where you can speak openly without being overheard or disturbed.
My first session
I recognise that reaching out for support can be unnerving and in addition to this choosing a therapist can also be difficult too. In response to this, I offer a free initial session to give you the opportunity to ask questions, talk in a bit more depth about what support you are needing and to get a feel for how I work.
If you think I may be a good fit, I would love to hear from you. We can set up an initial session and take it from there.
Fee scale:
Initial session
Free of charge (30 Minutes)
Regular Fee
£80 Per session
Concessionary fees are offered to support individuals who require financial accommodation. Please reach out to discuss your specific situation.
