About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jayne, an experienced BACP Integrative Psychotherapist. I run my private practice from a purpose-built garden room and currently offer both online and face to face sessions.
I am committed to supporting you to work through whatever has prompted you to seek help. Maybe you are feeling stuck, struggling to cope or feeling lost in your own head? Life is challenging and it’s not uncommon to experience a loss of meaning and purpose. Perhaps your past experiences are standing in the way of you leading the life you want. I offer a safe supportive space to explore what’s important to you, uncover unconscious patterns that may be holding you back, understand the root cause of the distress and work through difficult emotions.
How can Psychotherapy help?
Exploring the reasons for your difficulties, gaining personal insights and connecting the dots, can be extremely helpful and validating. When we are able to understand why we respond and feel the way we do and have this understanding witnessed and emotionally held within a therapeutic relationship, it can be easier to nurture self-compassion and foster choice and intentionality aligned with values.
My Experience and Qualifications:
I have an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with a research focus on psychotherapists experience of 'intuition'. I also have a BSc in Psychology, and a Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision from The Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy.
I have experience working for an NHS counselling service, supporting staff with a wide variety of presenting problems. Additionally, I worked for the NHS for over 10 years in a variety of supportive roles prior to training to be a psychotherapist.
I have extensive experience in private practice working with adults (18+) presenting with a wide range of issues. I offer both short and long-term work.
I have an up-to-date enhanced police safety check. I hold professional indemnity insurance, and my work is supervised by a BACP approved supervisor.
Practice description
Therapy is a collaborative process. I offer a safe and confidential environment to nurture understanding and insight. You can expect a therapeutic approach that is empathic, respectful, supportive, appropriately challenging, confidential and safe.
My therapeutic approach is integrative which means that I draw from a variety of psychotherapeutic philosophies which enables me to adapt my practice to meet client’s needs. I am guided by the principle of exploring experiences from a ‘making sense of what happened to me’ perspective rather than ‘what is wrong with me.’ My practice and values are grounded in relational psychodynamics and person-centred traditions. I’m not here to ‘do therapy’ to clients, but to ‘work alongside’ clients as we explore together.
I am based in Alsager and run my practice from a purpose-built garden room. It’s a quiet, peaceful confidential space.
There is parking available at my premises (on road and on drive)
I also offer counselling online via Zoom.

About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about supporting professionals to lean into their own unique style of delivering safe, effective and ethical therapy. My aim is for us to co-create a facilitative and trusting working alliance enabling deep exploration of the challenges, joys and relational dynamics of client work.
I undertook Level 7 supervision training at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy and use the seven-eyed model of supervision (Hawkins & Shohet). This approach facilitates an exploratory collaborative relationship between supervisor and supervisee. I adapt supervision to the developmental needs of the supervisee and am passionate about supporting growth and learning.
As well as extensive experience running a full private practice, I have worked for an NHS EAP service providing short term therapy. My experience working in various roles has enabled me to develop an understanding of the needs and demands of therapists working with adults across a variety of settings.
My modality:
I am an experienced integrative psychotherapist and draw from a variety of theoretical models. I work from an attachment-based developmentally informed approach and integrate a variety of psychotherapeutic philosophies, including relational psychodynamics, person centred, existential therapy, humanistic therapy and transactional analysis.
