About me and my therapy practice

I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help you understand the 'why' behind your feelings. By looking at your past and your unconscious patterns, we can work together to transform your behavior and help you move forward with more clarity.

I support individuals who are navigating:

- Childhood trauma: Gently exploring and healing from painful past experiences that still shape your emotional world

- Difficult family dynamics: Learning to set healthy boundaries and step out of old roles that no longer serve you

- Toxic relationships: Processing the pain of unhealthy dynamics, leaving safely, and beginning to rebuild your sense of self

- Rebuilding self-worth and trust: Restoring confidence, inner safety, and your ability to trust yourself and others again

- Workplace stress & burnout: Coping with pressure, perfectionism, and chronic overwhelm in demanding environments

- Anxiety & low self-worth: Letting go of constant self-criticism and building a kinder, more confident inner voice

- Depression: Moving through heaviness, numbness, and disconnection with care and understanding

- People-pleasing tendencies: Breaking free from the need to earn approval and reconnecting with your own needs and values

- Anxiety: Moving beyond just "managing" symptoms to explore the underlying causes of your worry. Together, we’ll uncover the past experiences or patterns that keep you on edge, helping you find lasting ways to overcome it.

- Social Anxiety: Working through the feeling of being "shut down" or painfully shy around others. We will look at these initial behaviours to help you feel more present, authentic, and comfortable in social spaces.

Practice description

My Approach

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a blend of psychodynamic, humanistic, trauma-informed, CBT, Gestalt, and inner child work. This allows us to explore how your past experiences shape your present while also focusing on practical ways to help you cope, grow, and thrive today.

I believe therapy is most powerful when it honours the whole of who you are, your wounds, strengths, fears, and hopes. Our work will be collaborative and paced with care, always tailored to your unique needs and what feels safe and supportive.

If you're feeling called to make a change, whether healing from the past, finding balance in your relationships, or simply learning to be kinder to yourself, therapy can help you come home to yourself.

At your own pace

At first, when you have a first counseling session, you may find the prospect of opening up about your private experiences and personal reactions to them daunting. Rest assured that this is normal and that you will never be forced to share more than you feel comfortable sharing, and certainly not before a degree of trust between us is in place. It may take a few sessions for this to happen and collaboratively we will determine the pace of our work together.

My first session

The initial consultation will give us both a chance to decide whether counseling is for you and whether we are a good enough fit and can work well together. During this free phone assessment, I will ask you some questions about your background history, presenting issues (what is troubling you), and expectations for therapy. You will also be invited to ask me anything which may help you clarify whether you would feel comfortable with me. If we choose to work together, we will establish the focus of therapy and a treatment plan that will meet your needs. If, however, we agree that you may be better suited to a different therapist, I will do my best to signpost you in the right direction.

Goals

From the start, we will agree on what you would like to get out of therapy. However, we will be reviewing the work as we move along, offering you the opportunity to reflect on your progress and how we are doing. It is not uncommon for initial goals to change as the therapeutic work evolves.

About me and my therapy practice

As a psychodynamic, integrative counselor, I believe that exploring our past experiences and unconscious patterns can reveal valuable insights into the challenges we face today. My approach centres on creating a safe, non-judgmental space to work collaboratively to understand and transform the underlying influences on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

With a psychodynamic foundation, I help clients explore the deeper roots of their emotions, relationships, and personal struggles. Often, unresolved feelings or past experiences can impact us in ways we may not be fully aware of, and bringing these to light can create new pathways for growth and healing.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches. I use a range of modalities, such as psychodynamic, humanistic, trauma-informed therapy, body psychotherapy, CBT, Gestalt, and inner child work to build the therapy around you and your needs. This means that while our work together may delve into past experiences, we may also focus on present challenges, behavioural patterns, and coping skills, depending on what feels most helpful for you.

Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, navigating life changes, working through challenging past experiences, people-pleasing tendencies, low self-esteem, depression, leaving a toxic relationship or simply seeking more clarity in your life, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating a collaborative process that fosters growth and resilience.

I have worked in a variety of mental health and therapeutic settings, supporting individuals struggling with a range of issues, including:

- anxiety

- life transitions

- depression

- abuse

- narcissistic abuse

- domestic violence

- bereavement

- family issues

- relationship issues

- ADHD

- social anxiety

- people-pleasing tendencies

- low self-esteem

- low confidence and many more

I welcome any questions you may have and look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

Integrative Framework

I chose integration because I believe that there is no one way of understanding human behavior and no therapeutic approach that is suitable for everyone and all presenting issues. I integrate different theoretical approaches into a cohesive, relational way of working which involves the ‘self’ of the therapist being present on multiple levels in the work with clients.
