About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Kirk and I am a BACP accredited, trauma-informed Integrative Counsellor.
I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can explore the challenges you may be facing. My aim is to help you gain greater understanding of yourself, develop new coping strategies and move towards meaningful change at your own pace.
I currently offer remote counselling sessions via online video or telephone, priced at £40 per session.
Qualifications and Experience
I have been working one-to-one with adult clients for over seven years, supporting individuals with a wide range of personal, emotional and psychological difficulties.
Alongside my clinical work, I regularly undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to expand and enhance my knowledge and skills so that I can provide the best possible support to my clients.
My qualifications include:
BSc (Hons) Psychology – Queen’s University Belfast
Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Studies and Therapeutic Communication – Ulster University
Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling Practice – Ulster University
Trauma and Addictions – Queen’s University / WAVE Trauma Centre
Trauma and the Family – Queen’s University / WAVE Trauma Centre
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II (CCTP-II): Complex Trauma – Evergreen Certifications
I am currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Foundations in Clinical Psychology Practice at Queen’s University Belfast.
Practice description
My approach is primarily person-centred, as I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and positive change when provided with the right support and environment.
As an integrative counsellor, I also draw on elements of CBT and psychodynamic thinking where appropriate. This allows me to tailor the therapeutic process to suit your individual needs and goals.
Our sessions will provide a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call for new clients. This provides an opportunity for us to briefly discuss what has brought you to counselling and for you to ask any questions you may have. It also helps us decide whether I am the right therapist to support you.
Throughout our work together, I will support you with empathy, authenticity and respect, while gently challenging where appropriate to help you move towards the changes you would like to make.
All work is conducted in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.
