About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative, psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Cardiff. I work through a relational approach, aiming to provide a warm, supportive space for us to work collaboratively and tailor our sessions to meet your needs.
I have a private and comfortable consultation room for us to work together, where there is free onsite parking. It is easily accessed from Cardiff, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Vale of Glamorgan, Pontypridd and Caerphilly areas.
If you would like to discuss the possibility of us working together, I offer an initial free 15 minute chat by telephone. Here we can cover what you’d like to achieve and any additional questions you may have before committing to an appointment.
Practice description
As an integrative, psychotherapeutic counsellor I work in a person centred way to help others find their way forward by developing their self-awareness. I place a heavy emphasis on the therapeutic bond built between us so encourage clients to search for the therapist that works best for them.
I provide a non-judgmental, confidential, safe space to look at current life challenges while connecting them to past experiences, unconscious patterns or childhood roots. The goal is to boost your understanding of your own mind, behaviours and emotions to enable you to handle present and future challenges.
Depending on what feels useful, I might draw on different ways of working, such as metaphors, imagery, timelines or creative approaches. These can help us explore thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Throughout the process, you remain in control of the pace and direction of each session. To support your growth I may offer practical resources and/or exercises, such as grounding and breathing exercises for you to use at home. These are optional tools, that allow you to safely reflect on the sessions and continue with your daily life.
Specialist autism training from the National Autistic Society (NAS) and regular, continued professional development in the field of mental health serves the evolving needs of the diverse clients that I work with.
