About me and my therapy practice
There are a myriad of reasons why you may be looking for a therapist. If this is your first time, the process can feel overwhelming as you look through various profiles to find the right person. You may be looking for someone you can identify with and has skills, knowledge and experience to support you at this time.
I understand how important it is, to connect with your therapist. I work using an integrative approach, which means I use various therapeutic techniques tailored to your unique needs. My client group includes adults, children, and young people.
My area of expertise is working with clients who have experienced some form of sexual trauma (e.g. childhood sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, sexual assault rape) and experiencing low mood, depression, PTSD symptoms, physical symptoms and much more. More often people will experience trauma responses which can be mistaken for mental health or a psychiatric disorder. My client group include adults, children, and teenagers.
In addition, I also work with distress that could be related to a relationship, family, work, loss or other life challenges. I provide a safe place for you to work through any "stuckness" with patience and care to enable you to processs the emotional and mental burdens, and together explore pathways towards healing.
I have had the privilege of working with people from different backgrounds. This diversity has shaped my practise and allows me to approach each client with empathy, cultural sensitivity, openness, honesty and respect.
Looking for the right therapist can take time. You are right to take your time to find the right person. If you decide you want to work with me, it will be an honour to come alongside you, on your therapeutic journey.

Practice description
My approach is deeply rooted in empathy, kindness and respect. My work is client-centred, because I believe you are the expert on all matters concerning you, so I will be guided by you.
Our sessions will be a collaborative space where I provide that all important safe relationship where you feel seen and heard. As well as a confidential, and non-judgemental space. Together we will work towards your goals, at a pace that feels right for you.
With trauma work it is important you feel safe and grounded before we start processing the trauma. That's why I don't start of with "tell me everything" but rather we put things in place first, to help you feel safe before you process traumatic memories or deep emotional pain.
I will review our work as we go along and this will give us both the opportunity to talk things through. I do this because it is important that we stay on track and if we miss to find our way back.
My first session
I offer a complimentary 15-minute introductory call. This call is an opportunity for you to share what has led you to consider therapy and ask any questions about the way I work.
Following this call you are welcome to decide if you would like us to work together.
If we agree to work together, I will ask you to complete an initial consultation form (basic information about you) and signed copy of the contract. We will then agree on a time and a day for your sessions which typically occurs weekly and last for 50 minutes.
