About me and my therapy practice
You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns of overthinking, self-criticism, or emotional overwhelm, and want support to feel more in control and more like yourself again. You might also have ADHD, or suspect you do, and find it difficult to manage emotions, stay focused, or cope with daily demands.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, tailored to your individual needs, pace, and goals. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming. I draw on approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed strategies, and person-centred therapy, depending on what feels most supportive for you.
I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel understood, make sense of your experiences, and begin to create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. I work collaboratively, with compassion and respect at the heart of everything I do.
My practice is grounded in humanistic values, with an emphasis on self-compassion and emotional safety. Where helpful, I may use structured tools to support short-term, solution-focused work, while also offering space for deeper exploration when longer-term therapy feels more suitable.
Practice description
Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place weekly. Sessions can be offered face to face, online, or by telephone, depending on your preference and what feels most accessible for you.
Face to face sessions are held at:
The REDI Centre, 54 South Street, Redditch, B98 7DQ
or
Redditch Therapy Centre, 91 Birchfield Road, Headless Cross, Redditch, B97 4LB
The first session is an opportunity for us to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to gain, and whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no obligation to continue, and you are welcome to take time to decide.
I aim to offer a calm, supportive, and confidential space where you can feel at ease. We will work collaboratively, at a pace that feels manageable for you, with a focus on helping you feel understood and more in control of your experiences. Practical arrangements, boundaries, and confidentiality will be discussed clearly so you know what to expect from the outset.
My first session
Before arranging an initial counselling session, I offer a free, informal telephone consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, and consider whether working together feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue.
If you choose to go ahead, the first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another. We will explore what you hope to gain from therapy and any concerns you may have about the process. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable, and you are welcome to go at your own pace.
As part of the initial process, I may ask some questions about your current circumstances and relevant personal or medical history. I will only ask for what is necessary, and all information is kept confidential in line with GDPR guidelines.
I will also explain how therapy works, including confidentiality, boundaries, and practical arrangements, and you will have time to ask any questions. The first session is an opportunity to reflect on whether continuing therapy feels right for you.
