About me and my therapy practice
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or emotionally exhausted. As an accredited member of the BACP with specialist trauma training and EMDR qualification, I offer a thoughtful and trauma-informed space to explore what is happening and work towards meaningful change.
I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Postgraduate Diploma in Trauma Counselling and an MSc in Behavioural Science. My approach is integrative, and I have a particular interest in trauma and the impact that past or difficult experiences can have on current emotional wellbeing, relationships and sense of self.
I support clients experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, loss, life transitions and the effects of trauma.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps people process distressing or traumatic memories that may feel “stuck” or unresolved. As a qualified EMDR practitioner and member of the EMDR Association UK, I am able to offer EMDR as part of the therapeutic work where appropriate.
I work with adults of all ages and offer short and medium-term therapy, either online or in-person from my practice in Reigate. The fee is £75 per session and sessions are 50 minutes long.
I offer a free 20-minute online consultation so that we can discuss what has brought you to therapy, you can ask any questions you may have and we see whether we feel like a good fit. I currently have weekday availability for both online and face-to-face sessions.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. All enquiries are treated with care and complete confidentiality.
Practice description
In my practice, I work in an integrative and trauma-informed way, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual and what they are bringing to therapy.
Some people come to therapy wanting practical support with anxiety, overwhelm or difficult patterns of thinking and behaviour. Others are looking for a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships or the impact of past experiences. With my training and experience, I am able to adapt the sessions to your needs.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other.
You do not need to prepare anything in advance, and there is no “right way” to do therapy. We will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I will usually start by asking more about what has brought you to therapy and what feels important for me to understand. You can share as much or as little as feels manageable. Some people arrive with a clear sense of what they want to talk about, while others are less sure - both are completely fine.
There may be moments where I ask questions to help us explore things more clearly, and we may begin to notice patterns or themes together. The aim is simply to start understanding what is going on for you and what you might need from therapy moving forward. We may also begin to think about what you would like to be different or what you might hope to work towards in therapy.
