About me and my therapy practice

I am a relational, psychodynamic therapist offering a calm and supportive space to explore emotional difficulties. My approach focuses on understanding how past experiences, particularly early relationships, may continue to shape how you feel about yourself and others today. By bringing greater awareness to these patterns, therapy can support deeper understanding, self-compassion and meaningful change.

I work integratively and draw on different approaches where helpful. I have particular experience supporting individuals with eating disorders and body image difficulties and have previously worked as a counselling service lead within an eating disorder service. Alongside this, I support clients with a wide range of experiences including anxiety, depression, shame, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of earlier experiences.

I work online, offering a flexible and accessible way to engage in therapy from a space that feels comfortable and private for you. I aim to create a safe and containing therapeutic environment, where a strong and meaningful therapeutic relationship can develop.

I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals and supporting parents and carers who may be navigating complex emotional or relational challenges. My aim is to provide a space where you feel heard, understood and able to explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. I offer a non-judgemental and collaborative environment where we can reflect together and begin to make sense of what you are experiencing. While my experience helps guide the work, you will always remain at the centre of the process.

Practice description

My work is grounded in a psychodynamic and relational approach. This involves exploring how past experiences, particularly early relationships, may influence current thoughts, emotions and patterns in relationships. By developing a greater awareness of these patterns, therapy can support a deeper understanding of yourself and create space for change to emerge. This approach allows us to explore not only what is happening in the present, but also how these experiences may be rooted in earlier patterns and relational dynamics.

I work integratively and draw on other approaches where appropriate. Alongside psychodynamic work, I may incorporate more structured or practical elements depending on your needs. I have particular experience working with eating disorders and body image difficulties, and have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT-E for Eating Disorders. This allows me to support both the emotional and behavioural aspects of these experiences where helpful. Where appropriate, I can also offer more focused, shorter-term work for clients who are looking to explore a particular difficulty or area of change.

My approach is collaborative and responsive to each individual. I aim to create a safe, containing and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. We will regularly reflect on the work together to ensure it feels meaningful and supportive.

My first session

Prior to our first session, I may ask you to complete a brief assessment form to support our initial discussion. I offer a free 15-minute initial telephone consultation.

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to therapy. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, so we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

During this session, we will discuss your current difficulties, any relevant background information, and what you might hope to gain from therapy. I may ask some questions to help build a fuller understanding of your experiences, but there is no expectation to share more than you feel ready to.

This session also provides space for you to ask any questions about how I work and to consider whether you feel comfortable working with me. Therapy works best when there is a sense of safety and trust, so it is important that this feels like the right fit for you.

If you decide to continue, we will agree a regular time to meet and begin to explore your experiences in more depth.
