About me and my therapy practice

Hi there. Well done on getting to this point - I’ve been in your shoes and I remember how overwhelming it can be when you’re looking for a therapist. How are you supposed to choose?

Well, I’m Lizzy (she / her) and I’m a fully qualified and registered humanistic therapist from Brighton. Humanistic means that I believe that you are the expert in your own experience, not me. I will never diagnose you, or tell you what to do, nor will I give you advice or homework - we’ll work together to explore what you want and need from therapy.

You might have a specific issue you want to work on. You might be going through a difficult time in your life and need some support. You might simply want to learn and explore more about yourself. All of these are welcome in my therapy room. I work from an existential perspective which means that together we’ll look at your life and ask the big questions: Who are you? What do you want out of your life? How can we achieve those things together?

I work from an LGBTQ+ affirmative position and have particular experience of working with LGBTQ+ identifying clients. I am always working towards making my practice as anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-ableist and inclusive as I can.

We live in tough, uncertain times but there’s always the potential for joy, healing and growth, however small. Therapy changed my life and it has the potential to change yours. By working together I hope that we can start to change your life for the better. I can’t wait to meet you.
