About me and my therapy practice

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with a background in mental health services for the NHS.

My aim as your therapist is to provide the opportunity for an empathic and supportive relationship where you can feel safe to explore the things that are causing you difficulty.

There are many different reasons we might come to therapy. We may be experiencing a difficult life event, such as the death of a loved one, or find ourselves stuck in a pattern of behaviour we wish we could change. We may be experiencing complex feelings that are hard to understand or have a general sense of dissatisfaction with how our life is.

I work in a collaborative and conversational way with you to help you deepen your understanding of yourself, make sense of your experiences and to find a way forward.

Practice description

I hold a diploma in psychotherapy and a MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute in London.

I work under regular supervision to maintain a high standard of practice and I am committed to my ongoing learning with continuing professional development (CPD).

I can offer sessions in person from my home in Yateley, or online.

My first session

It is understandable to be apprehensive about your first session. The most important thing is for us to get to know each other and for me to start to understand what brings you to therapy and what you need.

During our first meeting, I will take some information about your history and experiences so I can start to understand what you want to work on, but there is no expectation to go into great detail or to disclose deep feelings at this early stage, until you are ready.

However, it is crucial that the therapist you choose is someone that you feel comfortable with and ‘gets you’ and this is something we can establish when we first meet.

Please get in touch if you would like to book an initial session or have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
