About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Carolyn.  

If you find yourself experiencing difficulties, feeling low, or struggle navigating life's challenges, you aren’t alone - although I know sometimes it may feel like it. I understand that reaching out for help - or even recognising the need for it - requires courage and you’ve already taken a great first step by seeking support for yourself, well done.

Choosing a counsellor can be deeply personal, and it's important that you feel a sense of comfort and trust in order to get the most out of your sessions.  I hope that, in learning more about me and my approach, you can begin to get to know me and decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

I am qualified Counsellor and am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).  I adhere to their ethical guidelines and placing priority on your wellbeing during our time together.

I work from a Person-Centred Approach, recognising that you are an individual with your own unique life story, making you an expert on yourself and my role is to guide you through your thoughts and feelings.  Our therapeutic relationship is very important to me and I am committed to providing a confidential and safe space where you can freely explore any concerns without judgment.  Where you can be authentically you, exploring your feelings and thoughts without fear or reservation.  Together we can create a space where change becomes not just possible, but inevitable.



Practice description

I understand, first-hand, those moments when life seems to hit a roadblock, leaving you feeling stuck, often leading to repetition of unhelpful patterns of behaviour and not knowing how to break that cycle. It's okay not to have all the answers; together, we can explore those stuck points, uncovering the strength within you to move forward.

I am here to guide you in unravelling these complexities and offer a fresh perspective. I want you to know that if life feels like an uphill climb or if you feel that you're caught in a storm of challenges, together, we'll navigate those challenges, celebrate your victories, and empower you to create a pathway toward a more fulfilling life.Counselling, to me, is more than a profession—it's my calling. Our conversations have the power to be transformative; I’ve witnessed first hand the profound impact counselling can have on reshaping lives. Your unique perspective guides our sessions as we work collaboratively towards your well-being.

I provide a free 30-minute initial call, allowing you the opportunity to have a conversation, ask any questions to see if you feel comfortable working with me.  This gives us a chance to connect and explore how I can support you on your journey.
