About me and my therapy practice

I’m a BACP-registered therapist and trauma-informed coach. I work with men and dads over 18, including dads of teenagers aged 12 and over. I work with you, not your teenager.

My work brings together two things. The first is the therapeutic relationship: a safe, confidential space where you are listened to without judgement, and where we can look at how past experiences may be shaping how you think, feel and react now. The second is coaching: clear goals, practical tools and steady progress you can see in your everyday life.

Many of the men I work with are under pressure at work, at home, or both. Some feel stuck, short-tempered or worn out. Some are dads whose relationship with their teenager has become a daily battle or has gone quiet. Together we make sense of what is going on, then build skills you can use straight away, such as staying calm under pressure, setting clear boundaries and having the conversations you have been putting off.

I work in an integrative, trauma-informed way. That means we go at your pace, you stay in charge of what we explore, and I adapt how I work to suit you rather than following a fixed script.

I don’t offer crisis support. If you’re having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please contact your GP, NHS 111 or Samaritans on 116 123, or call 999 in an emergency.

Practice description

I offer trauma-informed coaching for men and dads, grounded in my training and background as a therapist. Sessions are £75 for 60 minutes, and every new client starts with a free 30-minute discovery call.

You can work with me in three ways:

1:1 Performance Coaching for men – for men who feel stuck, stretched or under pressure and want to feel clearer, steadier and more in control.

Dad Leadership Coaching – for dads of teenagers who want to stay calm, set clear boundaries and rebuild connection, even when things at home feel tense or distant.

Walk-and-talk coaching – sessions outdoors around Tavistock, West Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley. Many men find it easier to open up walking side by side than sitting face to face.

I also see clients in person in Tavistock and Saltash, and online anywhere in the UK.

My background is in youth work, education and counselling teenagers, and over more than six years in practice I have supported over 100 clients and families. That experience means I understand both sides of the parent–teenager relationship, even though my work now is with the dads.

I am a BACP registered member, an NCPS member and an Association for Coaching member. I receive regular clinical supervision, hold professional indemnity insurance and an enhanced DBS check, and work to the BACP Ethical Framework.

My first session

Your first step is a free 30-minute discovery call, by phone or online. There’s no charge and no obligation. It’s a chance to tell me a little about what’s going on, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether working with me feels right. If I think another service would suit you better, I’ll say so and help point you in the right direction.

If you decide to go ahead, your first full session is the same as every other: 60 minutes at £75, with no separate assessment fee.

Before we meet, I’ll send you my coaching agreement through my secure client portal. It explains how we’ll work together, confidentiality and its limits, cancellations and how your information is stored. I’ll also ask you to complete a short intake form so I have your details and a sense of what you’d like to focus on. You only share what you feel comfortable sharing.

In the first session we will:

- Talk about what has brought you here and what you hope will change

- Look at the bigger picture, including any important life experiences you want to share

- Agree some clear goals and how we’ll know things are moving forward

- Decide together how often to meet, and whether in person, online or outdoors suits you best

Many men tell me the first session was easier than they expected. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan before you start. Working that out is part of what we do together.
