About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited person-centred counsellor, offering a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can feel heard, accepted, and understood without judgement.

My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for self-understanding, growth, and meaningful change when given the right conditions. I aim to build a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, allowing you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

I recognise that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when navigating anxiety, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or challenges with identity and self-worth. You may be struggling to make sense of your experiences, feeling disconnected from yourself, or simply needing a space where you can express what is difficult to share with others. Whatever brings you to counselling, I will meet you with openness, sensitivity, and respect for your unique experience.

My approach is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I will not tell you how to live your life or offer ready-made solutions. Instead, I will walk alongside you as we explore what matters to you, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, reconnect with your inner resources, and discover what feels right for you.

I believe that meaningful therapeutic work happens through genuine human connection. My aim is to create a space where you can feel safe enough to be yourself, including the parts of you that may feel uncertain, vulnerable, or difficult to understand.

Seeking counselling can be a significant step, and you do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. You are welcome to arrive exactly as you are. Together, we can make space for your experiences and explore the possibilities for growth, healing, and change at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

In our sessions, you can expect a non-judgemental space where there is no pressure to perform, meet expectations or find quick solutions. I will listen carefully and seek to understand your experience from your perspective, allowing you the time and freedom to explore your feelings at your own pace. Rather than telling you what to do, I will support you in developing greater self-awareness, recognising your needs and reconnecting with your own inner resources.

I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, particularly when sharing personal experiences with someone new. We can take time to build trust and establish a way of working that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. I respect the uniqueness of every person's journey and remain sensitive to the influence of personal experiences, relationships, cultural background and values.

My intention is to offer a space where you can be yourself, including the parts that feel uncertain, vulnerable or difficult to express. Together, we can explore what matters to you and make room for new understanding, self-acceptance and personal growth. You do not have to navigate everything alone.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation before you decide whether to begin counselling. This is an opportunity for us to connect, for you to ask any questions you may have, and to share a little about what has brought you to counselling, if you feel comfortable doing so.

I understand that taking the first step can feel daunting, so there is no pressure or obligation to proceed. The consultation allows you to get a sense of my person-centred approach, discuss what you hope to gain from counselling, and consider whether working together feels right for you.

My aim is to help you feel comfortable and informed as you decide on the next step in your counselling journey.
