About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Hannah Green, a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor based in the North West of England.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever may be bringing you to counselling. I believe that everyone’s experience is unique, so I tailor my approach to you, your individual needs and what feels most helpful for you.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches and work collaboratively with you. This means we can explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships, while also developing a deeper understanding of yourself and the things that may be affecting you.
I won’t judge, tell you what you should do, or expect you to have everything figured out. Instead, I will listen, support and work alongside you, helping you to make sense of what you are experiencing and find ways forward that feel right for you.
Counselling can sometimes feel daunting, particularly when you are sharing personal or difficult experiences. My aim is to create a warm, compassionate and accepting environment where you can feel heard and understood.
We will work at your pace, whether you are looking for support with something specific or simply feel that things have become difficult to manage. My hope is that, through our work together, you can develop greater self-awareness, understanding and confidence in navigating life and its challenges.
Practice description
My work is rooted in a Person-Centred approach, meaning our sessions are led by you and shaped around what feels most important to you. I believe that feeling heard, understood and accepted can be an important part of the therapeutic process.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt my work to your individual needs, experiences and goals. This may include exploring attachment, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, emotional regulation, relationships and parts-based approaches.
I have experience supporting young people aged 11+ and adults with a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation and bereavement and loss.
Alongside my private practice, I work within a hospice, youth settings and community services. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the different challenges people can face and inform my sensitive, compassionate and grounded approach.
Whether you are experiencing a specific difficulty, going through a period of change or simply feeling that things have become difficult to manage, I offer a safe and confidential space to explore what is happening for you.
There is no expectation that you have all the answers. We can take things at your pace and work together to develop greater understanding, self-awareness and ways of moving forward that feel right for you.
My first session
I offer both short- and long-term therapy, depending on your individual needs and what feels right for you. We will regularly review our work together to make sure counselling continues to feel helpful, supportive and appropriate for you.
Before starting counselling, I offer a free 10-minute consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you may be looking for from therapy, and for you to ask any questions you may have. It is also an opportunity to consider whether you feel I might be the right counsellor for you.
Sessions are available online via Google Meet or by telephone. I also offer face-to-face counselling sessions on Thursdays in Macclesfield town centre.
Your first full session will be an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to counselling. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to talk about. We can work at your pace and begin to develop an understanding of what you would like support with.

About me and my therapy practice
Hannah Green | BACP-Registered Integrative Counsellor
North West England
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in your life. Perhaps you’re coping on the outside, but inside feel anxious, self-critical, or disconnected. Counselling can offer a space to slow down, make sense of what’s going on, and feel less alone with it.
I’m Hannah Green, a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor with several years’ experience supporting young people (11+) and adults with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties.
At the heart of my work is the Person-Centred approach. This means our sessions are led by you, moving at your pace and shaped around what feels most important. I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you feel safe to speak openly and truly heard.
Alongside person-centred counselling, I integrate a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs. This allows us to gently explore past and present experiences, emotional responses, and patterns of relating, helping to build greater self-awareness, understanding, and choice.
I believe strongly in each person’s capacity for growth and change. With the right support, it’s possible to reconnect with your inner strengths, develop self-compassion, and find new ways of moving forward that feel more aligned and sustainable. I’ll work alongside you with care, consistency, and respect, supporting you to explore whatever feels important for you.

Hello, I’m Hannah Green, a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor based in the North West of England.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace. I believe that everyone is different, and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor our work together to meet your individual needs, experiences and goals.
My role is not to judge, tell you what to do, or provide all the answers. Instead, I aim to offer a supportive and understanding relationship where you can feel heard, valued and accepted. Together, we can explore thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns that may be affecting you, helping you to develop greater understanding and find ways of moving forward.
I understand that taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. You may be struggling with something specific, feeling overwhelmed, or simply feel that something in your life isn’t quite right. Whatever brings you to counselling, you will be met with compassion, warmth and respect.
We will work collaboratively, at a pace that feels right for you, with your needs at the centre of the process. My hope is that counselling provides you with a space where you can be your authentic self, without fear of judgement, and begin to make sense of what you are experiencing.

My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, get to know each other and begin to explore what has brought you to counselling.
I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting, so I aim to make your first session as relaxed and comfortable as possible. There is no pressure to talk about anything you are not ready to discuss.
We will spend some time talking about what you would like support with, what you hope to gain from counselling and anything that may be helpful for me to understand about your circumstances. I will also explain how I work, including confidentiality and the counselling process, and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
As an integrative counsellor, I will work collaboratively with you to understand what approach may best suit your individual needs. We can take things at a pace that feels manageable for you.
The first session is also a chance for you to consider whether you feel comfortable working with me. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of counselling, and it is completely okay to take some time to decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.
My aim is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, respected and supported, with a clearer sense of how we can work together.
