Hi, I’m an integrative counsellor, which simply means I use different therapeutic techniques and skills so that our work together can be shaped to suit you and your needs.
My focus is always you, on understanding your world, your hopes and the experiences that bring you here and to do this I aim to offer you the right support by providing you the space where you feel genuinely heard, understood and supported.
I understand that everyone’s story is different, and we all come with different needs and expectations, which is why I take time to get to know what matters to you, so together we can explore your thoughts and feelings in a way that feels safe, respectful and genuine, allowing us to create a way of working that feels right for you.
As your counsellor, I offer a space allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace, so together we can make sense of what you are feeling and what you have been carrying.
During our time together I will listen, respect and understand your experiences, explore what matters to you. We will work together to take a deeper look into the world you come from, the challenges you have faced and through this process we will work together for clarity and understand and a deeper sense of self.
If given the opportunity, we will work together to understand the struggles, the challenges and the hurt to gain a better understanding of the life you live so you can move forward with confidence and understanding.
Practice description
Life has its way of presenting us with challenges, some we can make sense of and other leave us feeling confused, overwhelmed or unsure what to do next and trying to manage moments when you feel alone and can be really tough.
We all have our own ways of coping and trying to understand what is happening in our lives. Sometimes we reflect and search for answers, other times we avoid altogether, even when a part of us identified we need support. These responses are natural and non of them are wrong, but what we feel in the moment.
In our work together I will support you in exploring your thoughts, emotions and actions so you can develop a deeper awareness of yourself and a clear understanding of what you are experiencing.
I will walk alongside you to manage sense of life, relationships and the things that matter to you the most.
My aim is to help you, provide you a space where you can be honest about how you feel without being judged. I will support you to make sense of your inner world in a way that feels manageable and respectful at your pace by respecting your independence, your values and beliefs.
Reaching out for help is a courageous step and meaningful step, its takes a lot of strength to ask, but once you have overcome this setup it can open the door to help you feeling more connected, grounded and supported.
Our work together requires patience, commitment and compassion, not only from me but yourself too. I am here to offer a safe place where we can explore your experiences together, help build trust, confidence and a deeper sense of who you are.
My first session
Our first session together will be a gentle introduction to the counselling process.
It is a place for you to share what you feel is comfortable, with no pressure having to figure out or explain your whole story at one. But simply a time about getting to know each other and allowing us the opportunity to understand what to expect from each other.
We will explore what you are hoping for, what you are struggling with and what you would like to gain from therapy. You are welcome to ask questions at any time, about how I work, the counselling process and anything that helps you feel at ease.
I offer 50min sessions at a rate of £50. We will consider the number of sessions required and make a commitment, however, if you need to cancel, then I request 24hrs notice of any cancellation for the fee to be refundable.
We will review the contract together and address any questions you may have.
Starting therapy can feel dauting, but you won’t be alone. This first session is the beginning of a relationship where you can feel heard and understood. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, you will control what you bring to the sessions and my role will be to listen, support and offer you a place to explore thoughts and feelings, so together we can shape a way of working that aligns with your needs and make sense of what is going on in your life.
