I am registered to see EAP clients.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited counsellor offering a safe and confidential space to explore what you are experiencing.
Having somewhere we can talk about what has happened to us rather than thinking what is wrong with us can be incredibly powerful.
Counselling helped me through, what felt like at the time, overwhelming life changing experiences. Having someone walk that path with me allowed me the time and space to emerge much stronger. As a result I am passionate about creating conditions that promote healing in others.
I offer short or long term counselling and will always be guided by what feels most appropriate for you.
Practice description
“When a person realizes he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, "Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it's like to be me”― Carl R. Rogers
I originally trained as a Person Centred Counsellor and have sixteen years of experience working with people in drug and alcohol addiction. Really hearing someone's story, without judgement can create powerful changes. I am trained in Compassionate Inquiry and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also a qualified meditation teacher.
I'm grateful to some of my previous clients who allowed me to use these quotes about their experience of counselling:
"Therapy was life changing." MH
"Its done what it said on the tin – someone has heard me and been willing to walk through this path with me." `LD
“The strength I felt from you enabled me to look inside my heart. I felt you created a safe environment for me to share.” SJK
'It's one of the best things I've done and has actually been life changing for me in many ways! I will be forever thankful.” RR
"It was my safe space when I was going through a really difficult time in my life. My counsellor helped me in so many ways, the biggest was giving me the tools and knowledge of myself for the future. I don’t really know where I would be now if I hadn’t of attended my sessions but I know I wouldn’t be as accepting of myself as I am now." EH
