Tuula Rasen

I am a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Lee, South East London, SE12.

For over 10 years, I have worked in Lee with adults and young adults from diverse backgrounds. I also have experience as a psychotherapist in the NHS and charity sectors.

I see people primarily for open-ended psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I work on the psychoanalytic principle that difficulties may be unconscious in their nature and linked to past experiences.

I offer a confidential space where you can discuss your concerns with care. Together, we can explore how the difficulties affect your life and your relationships, and consider perhaps changes you wish to make. Therapy can help you process difficulties, gain new insights and a clearer understanding of yourself and your relationships.

Training

I trained at WPF Therapy, qualifying as a psychodynamic psychotherapist in 2015 and as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in 2021.

I hold an MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. Before training as a psychotherapist, I completed a counselling foundation course.

Previously, I spent many years working in higher education, managing services and supporting the health and well-being of students and staff.

Registration

I am registered with the BACP, the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), and the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling 

Within the SCoPEd framework, the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) assign psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapists to Category C. The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), however, has adopted a different approach by assigning its registered members to Category A.

My practice is in Lee, SE12, close to Blackheath, Bromley, Catford, Eltham, Forest Hill, Greenwich, Hither Green, and Lewisham. It is also a direct train ride from London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, New Cross and stations in Kent. 

Fees 

My fees start at £70 per appointment.   

The first session lasts 50 minutes and gives us a chance to meet and discuss what brought you to therapy. We can also consider what you hope to get from therapy and whether we might work well together. The fee for this session is £70.
