About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults who feel anxious, emotionally disconnected, overwhelmed by life’s demands, or stuck in long-standing patterns that no longer feel helpful. Many people come to therapy feeling they have lost touch with themselves beneath roles, expectations or years of coping, or finding that talking alone hasn’t brought the change they were hoping for.
My approach offers a space to slow down, reconnect and explore your experiences in a more embodied way. Therapy with me involves not only understanding what you’re going through, but also gently noticing how these experiences are held in the body and nervous system, and exploring their deeper roots at a pace that feels manageable.
A central part of my work includes inner child and parts-informed approaches, supporting you to understand protective patterns and unmet needs that may have developed earlier in life. This work can help foster greater self-compassion, emotional integration and a sense of inner safety. I also draw on somatic and nervous system-informed practices, supporting awareness of bodily sensations, regulation and resilience.
I work integratively and collaboratively, tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals. Sessions are offered in different formats, depending on what feels most supportive. Further details about availability and session options can be found on my website.
Practice description
What You Can Expect from Therapy with Me
Therapy is not a linear process, and I work flexibly and collaboratively, guided by what feels most supportive for you. I primarily work online, which many clients find allows for deep, meaningful work from the comfort and privacy of their own space. I also offer limited face-to-face for those who prefer this and live locally.
While therapy rarely follows a fixed structure, our work often moves through some common themes over time.
Building Safety and Understanding
We begin by creating a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship. This foundation is essential. Together, we explore what has brought you to therapy, your experiences, patterns and the contexts that have shaped you. This stage is about understanding your world with curiosity and care, and helping your nervous system begin to feel more settled.
Working with the Body and Emotions
As therapy develops, we may move beyond talking alone and begin to gently explore what is held in the body and nervous system. I draw on somatic and nervous-system-informed approaches, alongside inner child and parts work, to support awareness, emotional processing and regulation. This work is always paced and responsive, helping you reconnect with parts of yourself that may have learned to stay protected or hidden.
Integration and Ongoing Support
Over time, insights and changes begin to find their way into everyday life. This can involve feeling more able to cope, responding to challenges with greater steadiness, and relating to yourself with more kindness and understanding. The focus is on changes that feel lived and embodied, rather than something you have to think your way through.
Throughout our work, I tailor therapy to your individual needs and pace. You don’t need to have a clear goal or know where the process will lead, we listen together and take each step as it comes.
My first session
When you reach out, I offer a free 15-30 minute initial telephone call. This conversation helps us explore whether my approach feels like a good fit for you and answers any questions you might have.
If we decide that my approach aligns with your needs, we then book an assessment session. This session builds on our initial call and gives us space to explore your past and present experiences in more depth. It also helps us both assess suitability and establish a foundation for the work ahead.
Following the assessment, we can schedule regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions tailored to your needs. For those interested in longer, less frequent insight sessions, more details are available on my website.
