About me and my therapy practice

Our sessions will be an opportunity for you to explore the areas of your life that you find the most distressing. Whether you are feeling anxious, depressed, fearful, shameful, conflicted or confused - I will be present with you, supporting your journey of exploration and discovery, at the pace that you feel is right.

My approach typically involves working collaboratively with you to address any needs or goals that you have. This will involve understanding the issues you bring in therapy and digging a bit deeper into what avenues there are into overcoming or managing the difficulties you are facing.

Perhaps you have no specific goals and you just want someone to truly listen to you and offer empathy - I will always be guided by what you wish to bring in each session and support you throughout the process, with compassion and care.

Practice description

I offer online and telephone counselling. This ensures that you have a comfortable and accessible space to access counselling.

I offer a no-cost, no-obligation, 20 minute initial consultation. This gives us the chance to meet and for me to find out a bit more about what you would like to get out from therapy. I can also explain a bit more about how I work as a therapist.

After the initial consultation, I will send a counselling agreement, which outlines how our sessions will be managed. I also send a questionnaire to better understand how any anxiety or stress is impacting you on a daily basis. We can then begin our sessions together, should you wish to go ahead.

Although my practice is not limited to any particular issue, my areas of interest mainly relate to low self-esteem, ‘people-pleasing’, external validation, negative thoughts and challenging perceptions. Even if you don't think the issue you are experiencing falls into any of the areas above, please feel free to contact me.

My first session

The first session with me will be an opportunity for you to talk through what is causing you the most distress, or indeed for you to have the space to talk about what you need to. Whether there are specific issues you want to explore or goals you want to achieve, this can all be explored further in the opening session.

Perhaps you simply feel down, depressed or overwhelmed and don't know where to begin - we can start with that and take it from there, one step at a time.

I ask clients to sign an agreement before our sessions begin, as this contains important information about the terms of the sessions. I also ask clients to complete a brief assessment form and questionnaire, to better understand the daily impact of your distress on your life experience.
