About me and my therapy practice

Hello! I'm Jo, an integrative counsellor based near Cambridge. I offer face to face sessions as well as online and by phone. I aim to provide a safe space for you to talk about the things that are difficult and may be holding you back. I believe that the relationship is key in counselling so I will listen without giving advice or judgement to allow you to explore your thoughts and feelings and hopefully to find your way forward. I offer both short-term and long-term counselling according to your needs which we can discuss together. I’m very happy to have an informal chat to get to know each other and see if you think I’m a good ‘fit’ with you.

Practice description

I'm a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling Practice and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). My training was mainly focused on the psychodynamic approach looking at how our past experiences and relationships influence how we think, feel and behave.

I’ve undertaken specialist training to work in a trauma-informed way, to help people to build strength and heal from past traumas and to build self-care and emotional regulation. I’ve also done a post-graduate training in relational counselling to enhance my work with couples and have experience working with Relate.

I also have experience working with a number of local charities including Centre 33, Lifeline, Mentis Tree CIC, MIND, and CHOICES. I’ve worked with a wide variety of people including those from the armed forces, those with work and relationship issues with parents and carers and with women experiencing peri-natal mental health challenges. I’ve volunteered with a number of local mental health charities since 2018 and have worked with many different presenting issues including anxiety, depression and bereavement. I also have a particular interest and experience in working with people living with the challenges of trauma.

I undertake regular continuing professional development to enhance my work.

About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to my supervision profile.

Finding the right supervisor can be crucial to support you in your client work and help develop your practice. I hope to create a safe space with you for collaborative learning and reflection. My aim is to provide the key elements of formative, normative and restorative supervision to facilitate your work and development.

For my supervision framework I use the seven-eyed model (Hawkins and Shohet) together with the integrated development model (Stoltenberg and McNeill) with the intention of meeting your developmental needs as they evolve. I aim to support you to navigate challenges and provide a space where you can enhance your self-awareness and build confidence in your clinical practice.

My supervision training (CPCAB Level 6 in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision) had a focus on relational, ethical, trauma-informed and anti-discriminatory practice. If you would like to discuss how we might work together, please feel free to get in touch and see whether we could be a good fit.

I offer sessions online, face to face or a combination of both, I’m based in Burwell (near Cambridge/Ely/Newmarket).

My fees for supervision are £60 per 60 minute session (£90 for 90 minutes). I also offer reduced-rate sessions for trainees.

Practice description

My background is working with adults  and I have a post-graduate diploma in relational counselling. I’ve also undertaken specialist training to work in a trauma-informed way.

I’m offering supervision to those working with adults and can work with different levels of experience from trainees, newly qualified and more experienced therapists. I’m happy to mentor supervisees through accreditation with BACP or other professional bodies.
