About me and my therapy practice

A lot of the people I work with are students or academics, or have built a life across more than one culture. Some come because they're burnt out or grieving. Others can see a pattern in their lives clearly but can't seem to shift it.

I'm an integrative counsellor (MBACP) with an MSc in Counselling Psychology. I've worked in university wellbeing services, bereavement support, [community mental health setting, named plainly] and private practice. I also hold an HEA Fellowship, so I know university life from the staff side as well as the student side.

Identity and belonging often shape what people bring to therapy, and I'm comfortable exploring them openly with you. LGBTQ+ clients and clients from global majority backgrounds are very welcome.

I work online with clients across the UK. [I currently have space for new clients, including some evenings.]

Practice description

People often come to me with something specific. It might be anxiety that's starting to take over, a loss that's hard to make sense of, relationships that keep going the same way, or pressure at university or work that has tipped into burnout.

My approach is integrative. Psychodynamic work helps us understand where your patterns come from, often in earlier relationships and experiences. CBT gives you practical tools for managing things day to day, and I use grounding and mindfulness when they help. You don't need to know which approach you want before we start. We'll find the balance that works for you.

Some people want focused work over 6 to 12 sessions. Others want open-ended therapy with room to go deeper. Both are fine, and we'll review how things are going along the way.

Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly, by secure video. You'll just need a private space and a reliable connection.

Fees: I work on a sliding scale. I keep a few places at a reduced fee for students.

My first session

We start with a free 20 minute call. You can tell me a little about what's going on, ask me anything, and see whether I feel like the right person to work with. There's no obligation to book.

If we go ahead, our first full session focuses on what has brought you here and what you'd like to be different. We'll also agree the practical side, like session times, fees and cancellations.

What you share with me stays confidential. The rare exceptions, such as a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, are set out in the BACP Ethical Framework, and I'll explain them clearly at the start.

To book, send me a message through this page and I'll reply within [one working day].
